I like the new lineup, looks solid. Holloway - Newhook - Cozens could be absolutely dynamite and I came away impressed with both Byfield and Pelletier last game.

You are correct, he was poor defensively last year. Certain fanboys remember things differently however.
He sure wasn't used accordingly then, was he? I just love that you know better than the guy who used him to hold leads and against top competition. Same thing with the Giants. But do keep on keeping on.

You are right, he was used quite similar to that of Jack Johnson for years in the NHL. Those coaches obviously knew best too. Gotta play those "heavy" defensmen in a defensive role.

Some of the lines show promise, but keeping Krebs with McMichael is worrisome. Hopefully they gel better as the tournament goes on, or are split up altogether.
Not on board here but we've been through that and through the shuffling this line stayed the same .. probably for a reason

When was Jack Johnson used as a shutdown D? Not in LA, not in Columbus and certainly not in Pitt. You just keep posting one hot take after another. I watched Byram play over 60% of last season and I bet you didn't see a single Giants game.

I'm talking about usage, coaches played him 22 to 24 minutes when he was absolute garbage. Im not saying Byram is garbage but he doesn't look the part of a top 5 pick.

I don't care if you watched him play for the Giants, thats obvious by your bias. I am stating what I saw last year, a defensmen terrible in space and got walked countless times. I didn't really watch him much against Russia but others are mentioning it is happening again but you seem content to cover your ears screaming he is great defensively.

This is pretty much what I agree with.

Byram was played a lot last year because of draft pedigree AND because he is very good offensively. He looks like a poor man’s Erik Karlsson. An absolute embarrassment in his own end but terrific and dynamic offensively. He’s looking like he’ll be a fairly good offensive defenseman, but I haven’t seen anything gleaming in his defensive game. He certainly was not good defensively last year, a constant liability.

He is a better version of Brandon Montour, which is a really good player just need to put players around him that fit his game.

yeah just don’t like Holloway on the line. He’s a step down skill wise from the other two - would prefer a few other guys in that slot.

I agree. Holloway is tough to play against and should stay on the checking line IMO

You believe whatever the hell you want. I just love how you determined he is terrible without even watching him. Par for the course around here, one inane take after another, but it's the coaches who are just blineded by draft pedigree

I like the new lines better. The team could use Newhook being in a more offensive role and Cozens always made more sense on the wing. Quinn was a strange fit on the top line. Byfield gets two good hard working players that will give him chances to create. I also like that they put Cozens in front of the net on the new PP units, as he did well in that spot last year.
