I'm actually with CallMeShaft in this one. There L is walk is not silent, has an alk sound, where in Doc it's a ock sound.
Thank you for making me not think I'm crazy.

Yeah, Dach (pronounced Doc or Dock), in my mind, rhymes with rock, sock, jock, mock, stock, etc.

Very similar, but not quite the same.

Edit: going to elaborate a touch more here.

Stalk rhymes with walk. Stock rhymes with dock. But 'stalk' and 'stock' are two different words pronounced differently (although very close to one another).

This is a new one to me also.

Maybe the coaching feels that Dach can dominate more offensively on the wing without the pressure to play a two way center man's game.

While I think Dach would have no issue at center I feel like he can flourish more on the wing than Cozens could. Cozens is still a great choice for the #1 center.

Realistically they’ll both end up taking draws at various points in the tournament.

That’s the nature of playing for Team Canada, sometimes you need to play a different position for the good of the team.

So even with the 8 germans out the tournament is still a go
My feeling is that there might be a miscommunication regarding how many of the 8 Germans are actually players. I’ve heard a report from the Germans saying they were part of the “delegation”. That could be their stick boy for all we know. If it’s 8 actual players, I don’t understand how they still have a team.

Lets be real, as long as it's not Stutzle and Peterka they're both playing 30 minutes per game anyway. As long as they have 2 goalies, the 13 other skaters can divide the ice time nicely.

The IIHF put out a release that point blank states it was 8 players. There are also tweets out there now that the 8 players are going to be allowed to play after finishing quarantine on the 24th.

Sure but my point was that the IIHF release might be incorrect. It depends if they have the same people writing those that are in charge of the scoring plays in the games. :sarcasm:

Hopefully they’ll all be good to go and we can continue without incident, but this is certainly getting more sketchy than I was hoping for.

Studs. All 3 WHL players at one point, good Western Canadian boys.

The ladies in Colorado are going to be tripping over themselves to meet Bo down there when he joins the Avalanche after this tournament.

Handsome young man and one heck of a hockey player.

Hopefully we have a team to play an exhibition game against on the 21st. I’m hockey starved right now.

hilarious. the correct pronunciation of Canadian player surnames has gone viral and international. on a Russian website a poster took issue with how the site transliterated Cozens.

Man, we got to get games quick before we all lose our shit.

As someone who has been called Bowen Byram’s indetical twin, your post brings me much joy good sir

The L is 100% silent in walk. This reminds me of the Family Guy episode where they are talking about pronouncing the H in Cool Whip.

Maybe we need to do a poll on this.
