I think it's safe to say that Taiwan Hockey is just Rod Langway's youtube account. Might as well leave it at that. It's a good channel.
"Langway was born while his father, an American serviceman, was stationed in Taiwan, and is the only NHL player to have been born there." - as per wiki

PP1
Dach
McMichael Cozens Krebs
Byram

PP2

Byfield
Tomasino Quinn Perfetti
Harley

I would switch Perfetti and Krebs. Perfetti’s IQ and playmaking ability are too valuable to be reduced to 30 seconds of PP time.

I’d also be surprised if Drysdale wasn’t on either of those units.

I thought the same thing. I wouldn’t move Cozens to the wing, I just expected both of them to be at centre.

Obviously they think that Dach is more adaptable to playing on the wing than Cozens and they want to load up on their first line. It still seems a bit weird that such an integral part to the team is playing out of position.
Yeah that makes sense. Dach did play both positions in the NHL, though he played his best at center during the postseason. Just feels like an odd choice when Cozens while naturally a center his skillset reflects capable winger more to me.

I find it odd that there's a real possibility Dach won't be the center on first line in favor of Cozens considering his NHL experience, and being a force during the postseason

I'm wondering if it's more of a defensive responsibility thing? Not a shot at Dach who is the team's most skilled forward and is no slouch in this area, but Cozens is faster and plays a harder game.

In terms of keeping them together, they are probably the team's two best forwards and they have complementary skill sets. Nothing wrong with loading up the first line, especially on a team this deep. Dach is a big-bodied playmaker, Cozens a skilled, powerful pace-pusher, Quinn a sneaky finisher who plays both ends and makes plays in traffic. On paper, it's good mix.

That looks to be the actual lines and pairing orders we’ll see for games.

As usual, any of these lines could end up with first line production and play more in a game. Such is the nature of the Canadian Way where we come after you aggressively wave after wave.

I wonder if we even play Sweden on Monday now? Hopefully the game is still a go.

Our almost yearly hand wringing about the goalie situation, have to hope one of these guys goes full Hofer . The one game I saw of Levi last year I really, really liked but it was just one game and the level here is of course higher.

Everywhere else you would think this team should be real good once the rust wears off.

Is the plan to have Holloway-Newhook-Pelletier actually playing 2nd line minutes? Going into the camp, it was assumed that Holloway would be a 4th line/extra forward type guy no? Really happy to see he has a regular spot and is seemingly going to be given big minutes as an Oilers fan.

I think this is going to be the coach's "hard-to-play-against-line" that sets the tone. A lot of us are going to fall in love with their game.

The Newhook and Cozens lines will be matched up against the other team's top lines, while the McMichael and Byfield lines will feast on the tournament bottom-sixers.

Looks like a winning formula to me.

Honestly to me the 2nd, 3rd and even 4th line seem pretty interchangeable. Kind of talent where you role out whatever unit is clicking best that game....along with obviously the big line.

For all we know the water boy is writing down the lines on the whiteboard. All 4 lines 5on5 likely will have the same minutes.

It could be though Dach was a net positive defender in the NHL, so that would catch me kinda off guard if his defense is cited as a reason. And hell in the playoffs he held his own defensively against some of the best in the game.

I'd say no to the question. I don't know why anyone would have thought that.

I mean I don't know about that. The Quinn-Cozens-Dach line is quite clearly the 1st line and will be played like it is. Beyond that the other 3 lines can be juggled around though.
If they are going to feed the 1st line big minutes to the point where other lines miss a shift or the next ozone start for example . I'd prefer McMichael over Quinn on that line.

Again it shouldn't be perceived as a knock on Dach's defence; he wouldn't be on the first line if defence was an issue. It's more a compliment to Cozens' defence: he's faster and more in your face.

I'm just speculating. Maybe it's a speed through the neutral zone thing? That could also be why McMicheal is playing centre and not on the wing. Newhook, Cozens and McMicheal all play a very high-tempo game, and that might be what Canada is designing it's game plan around. Faceoffs may also be a consideration, although I have no idea of either player's skill in that area.
