An unlikely player ties it back up again on a Dell miscue. Looked like Laberge to me.

A shot by Talvitie at the edge of the crease. Dell looked to have corralled it and then it slid unmolested out of the mess into a wide open net mouth and a Comets suddenly appeared coming down the middle and potted it in the gaping net?

The Amerks site says it was Talvitie! Another Comet who rarely dents the twines. He didn't dent the twines. Quinn kicked it into his own net and Laberge didn't get there in time.

Don't care who. It's 3-3!!!!!

Thompson with an opportunity in the Amerks end moving towards the net and all by himself loses the puck on his stickhandle and regained it and immediately mishandled it again and turned it over. UGHH!

More of the same noodle wristing of the puck in their own zone in attempts to get it out.

3rd period shots thus far, 12-5 Rochester.

Amerks working hard to score. Comets seem to be just preventing it from happening. Not a lot of offensive thrust. They cannot mount a multiple man rush because their turnover or wide shot or any kind of change of possession will result in an oddman going the other way. This might have some meat to it if the Comets were a rock solid defensive team, but they are not. Their best defense all season has been attack offense. Haven't seen that since the 2nd and 3rd period of game 1 and the Amerks had zero answer for it.

3:42 left and looks again like next goal wins.

Amerks 3-0 thus far this post season in OT.

Comets unable to do absolutely nothing the past 3 minutes 1:46 to go

Icing by the Amerks with :36 to go. Faceoffs so important and they win it but Wotherspoon's attempted shot was deflected and turned over.

Russo to the penalty box with :14 to go. It will be 4 on 3 for the OT session.

Almost didn't get there. Ruotsalainen got a wide open, point blank shot that didn't go.

5 on 4 BG. Normal play during the playoffs.

The speed with which the Amerks move the puck and skate around to create space and odd man situations on the PP will make the next the next 1:46 more crtitical than at any other time this season.

Amerks are an instant OT threat to begin with based upon their speed and the skilled puck handlers and play makers their 1st unit in particular possesses. There is a reason they are 3-0 in the 3 OT wins they have mustered prior to the upcoming one. A win here lodges them strongly in the driver's seat with the Comets needing to win 2 straight, the first of which is right back here in Rochester.

I don't know about you, but I have a tight stomach and shaky typing fingers. A case of the nerves in a fan is not the same as one with a player. They have to put it all together here to have the best chance to extend their season. What a waste to a great season if they go out in round 1 to a play-in team.
