Nah, I'm sure the wifi is the same for streaming and that's really all that matters. Little shocked (but not THAT shocked), that we have 3 pages of "what-ifs" with Mack. Really no reason to speculate in my opinion. Something seriously wrong would have to happen for him to not re-sign.

No, him & Makar are definitely (maybe) leaving (even though it’s 2 postseasons away at the earliest for MacK & longer for Makar, but beat the rush & worst case speculatively panic NOW)!

In theory I like this as it spreads out the talent and I love Nuke. But he shouldn’t be on the top line or even 2nd line for a team going for a cup imo. He just doesn’t have the offensive skill set necessary imo.
IMO the issue with your statement is not that "he shouldn't be in the top-6 on a team going for a cup" but rather "does the team going for a cup has the depth to step in in there is an injury in the top-6". Nuke is fine in the top-6 if it is to balance the lines better offensively and to provide the right mixture of players on each line. In that case I think Nuke is fine because he is a great complimentary player in the tiop-6 because of what he brings and he can still chip in offensively. And in that scenario you were commenting about we would still have Kadri and at a lesser level Newhook (although Newhook still have to prove he can handle at least 2nd line LW). So I'm fine with Nuke in the top-6 as long as we have the depth in case of an injury in that top-6 without depleting too much the 3rd line. That is why IMO it is important to get a guy like Giroux/Miller. It would give the Avs lots of options when the top-9 is healthy and still have decent options when there is an injury.

I don’t mind Nuke in the top 6 in the playoffs for spot duty. But he’s proven during his time here that he isn’t up to snuff in that role in the playoffs. 6pts in 25 games is a worse rate than Jost in the playoffs. Now he does a ton of stuff away from the puck that this team sorely needs, but if your in the top 6 you have to produce points at a somewhat reliable rate.

That's how I see it as well. Although he's improved his offense, I'm not sure that he can keep that up. Especially in the playoffs.
Love what he brings to the Avs at any rate.

I want to give Nichushkin the benefit of the doubt for his playoff struggles.

Last year, after having success in the regular season with variations of Donskoi/Jost/Saad, he spent the entire post-season stapled to JT Compher. In 2020 I thought he was just snake bitten, except at the very end of the Dallas series.

Either way, I want to look forward rather than backward. Nichushkin's clearly a different player now; he's on pace for 220 shots and 131 hits over 82 games. His previous career highs in those categories are 139 and 84 (respectively). If he continues to put that much rubber on net in the playoffs, he's going to have success.

This board, man

All I said was that IF Sakic burns ALL our assets and doesn't win a cup Mackinnon 'might' 'think' about signing elsewhere. Sakic isn't going to incompetently bleed the entire prospect pool dry obviously so there's nothing to worry about. Don't let that get in the way of all these panicky responses though, I'll just leave the pizza here for ya'll and be back later when things have calmed down on the Mackinnon-is-leaving-and-Makar-is-going-to-Calgary-doomsdayp parade.

What if this new top line works out..?
Landy-Rantanen-Nuke

That is an incredibly solid line makes you wonder what we could feasibly run as our other lines as when MacK comes back IF they decide to keep that line together.

Landy-Rantanen-Nuke
Trade-MacK-Burakovsky
Newhook-Kadri-LOC
Helm-Jost-NAK

Probably unlikely that those lines ever develop, but damn if Rantanen can play as a top 6 center we have some great problems moving forward.
I have wanted to break the top line up for a long time. Sure put it back together in a pinch when you need a goal. Spreading all that out that way would be super hard for other teams to play against. Imagine Giroux in that trade spot on the second line.
