What was the proposal that would close the loophole? There will always be a way you can cheat the system a bit. Most contenders that acquire players at the deadline will be technically over the cap during the playoffs, and I expect we will be too. Obviously having a guy on LTIR all year just to come back for the playoffs is an extreme case of this, but I'm just not sure what exactly you can do to solve it.

How are the Avs going to be over the cap? I think you're misunderstanding how the cap works if you think acquiring players at the TDL would put a team over the salary cap.

Do Helm, or Jost provide value when they’re not scoring?

Those guys don’t have any ability to play on a 3rd line. At least Compher has some scoring touch to make it palatable.

Both are pretty solid defensively and Helm is actually alright on the PK. I'd just prefer the low event guys that don't bleed shots over someone like JT. Granted I don't really think all 3 are that great.

Nope, he's still signed through next year as well.


He's a UFA July 1st 2023. So July 1st(Or 13th I guess this year) of 2022 is when we can discuss an extension.
