Great win. Some huge balls and character showing with them winning it in OT after blowing it at the end.

Brown is being played/utilized exactly how he should have been during the season. 3/4th line checking and hitting guys while not being over extended and given much PP time either.

Amazing they made the playoffs and winning games without Drew and others on D. and now without Arvi.

How do you win games and lead a series with such a dreadful PP/PK?!? It's almost shocking. shows how much better we're playing than them 5v5.

Imagine if Kopi finds his scoring again even just somewhat.

I really hope AI is hurt. Because the guy seems to have forgotten how to play.

Kupari has played really well imo the past two games. I've been impressed.

AK34 has grown so much as a player. His board work for a kid like him wow. Once they allow him to offensively play as he should and on the PP too.

Edler is doing the best he can probably. But lots of issues.

Oilers are a much worse coached team than the Kings. It's pretty amazing.

If they called that crappy interference [ which they let go all game ] on Danault, why wasn't this one called on Nurse a few minutes later? He just pulls him down before the puck gets to him. For f-sake, be consistent!

How about Kane reaching out one handed and tackling Denault from behind as both were going for the puck? I think that was right before Denault's interference penalty.
Yeah it's just not a hockey play at all. It's not a crosscheck that rides up or an overexuberant punch or hit, you have to think about that unnatural a move, that's an intent to knock Danault out for the series.
It seems as if they're purposely trying to get Denault off the ice one way or another. All the shit that they've been doing has been directed at him.

If you do that exact play in the NFL, targeting with your helmet, you get a 15 yard penalty, kicked out of the game, and a suspension. That's what he did, it was intentional.

Nurse should get at least 1 game. The Oilers board will blow up if that is announced. He had an intent to injure and should be punished as such.

Oilers fans in shambles trying to decide whether to complain more about us clutching our pearls or Kopitar clutching McDavid.

Too flustered to look down at their own white knuckles.

With all the players mentioning the intermission after regulation helped them regroup, why not call a time out after the game was tied?
In his 3 seasons, I don't remember TMac calling a time out to settle thing down once.
That's one thing that Sutter did very well.

I think I remember TMac calling a timeout to settle things down when he first became coach and Kings were getting blown out. It didn't work.

Funny enough, back in Game 3 vs the Sharks in 2011, I think TMac called a timeout when the Kings went up 4-0 on the Sharks. We all know what happeded after that.

I was so furious at Terry Murry when he refused to call a timeout when the Sharks were absolutely dominating the Kings and eventually came back and beat them.

Yea time outs don't always work, but saving them to use it for the end of the game is silly. Most of the times, they don't use it anyways.

Alright, real talk.

How do the Oilers throw away a 2-goal comeback like that? I'll take it but wow...
Pretty simple actually. The Kings went back into their dressing room, put it behind them, and realized next goal wins the game.

The Oilers started out with McDavid in the OT and the Danault line shut them down with the forecheck. The Oilers thought they were going to end it quick in OT.

Two big mistakes by the Oilers. The Kempe goal is scored at 1:11 of the OT after the Kings have already made their first line change. McDavid is gassed, and has been on the ice at least 20 seconds longer than he should be out there.

The biggest mistake though is by Keith. His angle on the Kempe OT goal is just incredibly bad. His side of the ice is being attacked with speed. Keith starts out perpendicular with the faceoff dot as Kempe is about 8 feet from entering the zone. By the time Kempe enters the zone Keith is skating backwards and is now 3 or 4 feet more toward the slot. It only takes Kempe about two strides to pull even with Keith's depth in the zone. (McDavid isn't going to catch the speedy Kempe, because he is gassed.)

At this point Kempe knows he has a clear path right to the goal mouth, and he is on his off wing so he can protect the puck with his left leg, and keep the puck away from the defender by shifting to his backhand. This is a LH goal scoring forward's dream. Kempe knows he is going to take it right to the net and get a shot off.

At this point really the only shot Smith has is to poke check the puck, and he doesn't even try it. A poke check for a goalie is always a bit of a gamble, but it is one Smith should have taken, because there was no way in hell he was going to beat Kempe to the far post where the shot was taken and the goal was scored.

Keith is just awful on this play, drifting way too far to the middle of the ice and giving Kempe the angle he needed to take it right to the net.

Oh man... why did you have to remind me? I was at that game and had taken a coworker to his first NHL game. I got him into hockey during the 2010 Olympics and he started watching the Kings that season and the following season. I remember when they were up 4-0 he was texting a few friends that were Sharks and Ducks fans bragging about how the Kings were kicking ass etc. I told him you should wait until the game is over. I'll never forget the thousand yard stare on the corner of 11th and Fig after the game. He said something like "What just happened?" I being a long time Kings fan told him "you're now going to realize that the one thing you can always count on the Kings to do is is disappoint you". Of course the following year the Kings won the Cup and the rest is history but what a perfect introduction into KIngs hockey to have that be your first game you attend.

Exactly, and for what? The Kings just went through a ridiculous stretch of games where they didn't score while their goaltender was pulled. Maybe calling time outs earlier may have prevented some of the losses. This applies to all teams, except for the ones who actually are a credible threat to score with the man advantage.

Can I just mention how bad the ESPN2 production was? I would hope that National Broadcast would have had a neutral flavor. I haven't screamed at at the TV about that kind of sports "announcing" inanity in years. We're so blest to have Jim Fox's commitment to calling a spade a spade. The announce team in stadium was trying to be the Nostrdamas' of NHL savants. Oilers this and Oilers that. I hope they like the taste of their shoes. Lord have mercy on us out of town viewers.

Well, how about that...

Now if they can just add Kassian and Kane while they're at it.

Well color me surprised! I'd love it if he got two games, benching him for the rest of the series. I'm concerned that if Nurse returned for the seventh game and the game got out of reach he would do something else dangerous.

"...On the Super Line...you just get that sense could this be the time for him to complete the hat trick" on Draisaitl before puck drop.

And in the time it took me to write this post, OT is over. How about no?

Not sure why this isn't getting more attention, even though it was last week...
Everyone been saying Draisital is sick with something, he sure looked bad last night after the game.

Seriously, if guys are playing through it, they're risking everyone they come in contact with, especially the Kings.
