Quickie is having himself a bad f***ing night.

Special teams being our kryptonite was always going to be the case, but this steadfast clinging to our broken PP/PK is taking it to a new level of bad.
PP 0 for 8=0%
PK 4 for 8=50%

Atrocious. The assistants who coach the special teams should be fired. Both have been bad all year. Kings have the youngest playoff team, but it's not like the roster has trash players to use on the PP/PK. The coaching plan for special teams is just not putting the players in the best possible situation to succeed. It almost seems like the players have a lack of vision on how to execute the special teams.

Just wanted to add, TMac and his assistants put a poor game plan together to slow down the Oilers in the neutral zone.

Winning game 1 was sweet.. esp without Arvy.. that still is very satisfying.. but the team weaknesses are what they are - mind boggling that PP1 cannot be improved at all over the season. Koala better better make some changes... learn to adjust dude, it wont kill you.

Blake made a very big mistake letting Macdermit go. He kept the opposing team from taking advantage of the Kings players and he also gave the his team mates confidence to play their game. The Avs traded for him and they are loaded with talent but were missing that enforcer element. Look at the top tier teams. they all have one. Tampa has Maroon, Calgary has Lucic,
I agree entirely.

We'd always play with big dong energy whenever Mac was in the line-up. You know darn well he was holding guys accountable.

But you have Brown's $6M coming off this offseson and Quick's $5.8M the season after. Kopitar isn't too far off. No one on the Kings is going to demand a big raise so you can afford to spend.
So who was that guy this year?

Claude Giroux? Mr. No Trade? Tippett, first and third?
That's Vilardi, a first and third.

Brandon Hagel? 2 firsts plus Akili Thomas and JAD?

I just didn't see many dynamite scorers changing hands.

There was a guy this year.
It was a defenseman - a young defenseman named Chychrun.

That's the trade I make.
Bite the bullet and trade a couple of the big-value prospects you might not be sold on as much anymore. Trade your first.

And you've got a top pairing LD for 10+ years.

For all the talk about scoring, the problem with the LA Kings is this defense is too small and it's getting smashed and can't get the puck out with a pass.

There was ZERO counter attack today because the Oilers just crushed the Kings defense.

Oh please, the only thing TM is changing is his underwear. ...maybe.

This is ALWAYS exactly what was going to happen in a playoff series, get outcoached and can't adjust.

Oh, their special teams absolutely will improve. If anything, because I can't imagine a world where it gets worse.

They technically can't hit 100% now but they can approach it!

I’m just wondering where Todd’s cultists are? Can you tell me what the almighty Todd was planning by taking a fat L?

Kopitar isn't wrong in his approach. A young team needs to hear they need to get back on the horse. Foaming at the mouth is going to send them in the opposite direction.

Amen. It's 1-1. Nothing else remotely matters.

If anything everyone collectively sucked so bad you can't even pick on any one player or game situation to work on, you just burn the tapes and get back to what made you successful.

Or sticks up for his teammate when 3 guys are on him that was gutless
Definitely. The Kings don't lay the body anymore. It's all "stick work". They need to run some guys so that it has to make them think about getting hit or brace for a hit to slow them down. Which leads to mistakes that we can capitalize on. First thing I'd do next game is take a clean shot at McDavid next game to get Edmonton off there game. Let them lose their minds.

I don't think the Kings are good enough to spend the kinds of assets that costs.
Especially when you've still got some big contracts on the books in Kopitar and Doughty.

The guy that scored 35 goals will.
Forgot about him haha

Are you suggesting that Blake should have used a protection spot on MacDermit?
