GDT: 2021-22 season WESTERN CONFERENCE QUARTER FINALS Game 2 LA Kings vs Edmonton Oilers @7:00pm LA leads 1-0

Danault-Moore-Arvidsson were the shtttt every game they were together.
They were almost always the best line of the night for either team, probably
80% of their games. Losing Arvy just fukkking kills. The Kings needed EVERY
minute edge or positive for this series. What sucks even more?
It's a total black out mystery as to WTF it is.

Winning game 1 was sweet.. esp without Arvy.. that still is very satisfying.. but the team weaknesses are what they are - mind boggling that PP1 cannot be improved at all over the season. Koala better better make some changes... learn to adjust dude, it wont kill you.
Amen. It's 1-1. Nothing else remotely matters.

If anything everyone collectively sucked so bad you can't even pick on any one player or game situation to work on, you just burn the tapes and get back to what made you successful.
Iit has actually been a pattern through out the season theyve been destroyed by Vegas, Seattle Colorado - who am I forgetting? But they usually come back fine the next game.. they just love to absolutely shit on themselves and wallow in it for entire game sometimes.

Uh have you seen him on the power play.
5 guys out there.

I feel like deployment is more the problem.

Anyway, I have a short leash for people trashing Kings legends after 1 poor game. These are people, they have good days and bad days. I prefer to look at a body of work rather than what have you done for me lately.

I'm not going to disparage brown either. These guys have given their lives to the LA Kings. They aren't Russell Westbrook out there crip walking down the court.

Losing our game plan of finishing checks and attacking the middle of the ice hurts more. RV could help balance the lines but the team was missing way more than just 1 player tonight.

Well then maybe we should all just fondly look at our 2012 and 2014 year books and just sigh at how amazing they were instead of that we just got laughed out of edmontons barn.

Goodnight guys hopefully they get their balls back at customs on the way out of Edmonton.

I saw the Kings take a couple of beat downs from San Jose in 2014, but that team had Justin Williams, Mike Richards, Jeff Carter, Marion Gaborik, Willie Mitchell, Drew Doughty, etc.

This team doesn't.

Soooo, should Byfield, AA, Kaliyev and Brown sit for Kupari, Vilardi, Frk and Akil.
Frk should be used on the PP because you know he isn't gonna hesitate to shoot the puck and hard to the net! Frk plays the left point and Kempe plays the right wall. Both give shooting threats from both sides which means the Oilers can't cheat to Kempe. Kopitar needs to be the setup man since he doesn't shoot the puck that much.

If that's the captains reaction. The Kings won't ever win a cup again. We need a captain the come with an attitude and grabs the bull by the horns.
This is who Kopi is his whole entire career really not a shock. Yeah pretty frustrating at times but not surprised that's for sure.

Dude it is a single game. Tampa got embarrassed the first night and came back big. Momentum will probably swing back and forth another 10 times before it's all over.

There's no need to be calling for kopis retirement. It's overboard, you have to know that.

Are you suggesting that Blake should have used a protection spot on MacDermit?
Well if he was letting him go then he should have brought in another player of Macdermit caliber. When teams are taking runs at your players they do this because they know there is no one that will hold them accountable. Enforcers are still a needed in this league, they allow your goalscores and playmakers the abiltiy to do their work. tonights game is prime example. Heck even Macdavid was being dirty with his hits, Why? Because he knows there are players on his team that will come to his defense. Kings don't have that

It's not just losing Arvidsson. It affects Danault and Moore. Taking away Arvy and adding Iafallo, it's not the same line. The 3 of them were like a computer game in sync without any flaws in how they execute together,

Nobody running in during that Lemieux "scrum" was sad. Every other playoff team would have.
This was the discussion at the beginning of the season over and over again. It's how Black built this team small and soft. Really depressing but what can we do.

Shake it up.
Line 4 Friday:

Kupari - Turcotte - Vilardi
Wait, I thought it was important for the kids to play regardless of if they suck? Now we are going to scratch the suckage?

BTW, awesome turnover by Byfield that led to first goal...don't worry though, it's important that he learns from that...more important than winning, we like that. We should consider this game a win.

This is one of those games where you get outplayed, while you simultaneously don't get any bounces and the other team does. 3 deflection goals for EDM.

Just a shit night.

Yep, shades of the first few SJ games in 2014. Everything goes wrong anyway, but you ALSO don't get the bounces, it just gets totally ugly, haha.

Great timing! I was just typing this out:

I see plenty of people advocating changing the bottom six but that really wasn't the problem. It was top to bottom. Without Arvidsson, it's just rearranging deck chairs on the titanic.

Like I said earlier, go ahead and pick your favorite scapegoat and go to town, but don't pretend that 'your guy' was better than anyone else:

The first goal was a penalty kill i think and he wasnt even out there.
How many turnovers for Brown? Kopitar 10 million a year. 0 points in two games. Why you love posting stupid shit? You hate when others do it but go and do the same so much.
