I'm not going to pretend this team doesn't have flaws (all teams but the 2012 Kings do) but reading this thread and all the "mental toughness" comments...

That was a monstrous salvage game. Need to build on it for sure. Buffalo just beat Minnesota and Toronto their last games.

Looked like Danault was hooked, but no call. Still managed to get back in the play and get the assist. Tremendous effort.

I asked when we went down 3-1 where the leadership is and it looks like it's right there in Danault and Arvy

What a game and love when it's just honest work and effort that leads to a skilled finish, that's exactly what the rest of the team needed to see as well...no shortcuts, don't look at the ref, just bust your ass and you'll earn it.

Much needed recovery win. Ugly, but given context, a great job steering the titanic away from the iceberg.

Did anyone notice the streamers that fell from the rafters when the Jackets scored in OT?

Really?

I get it during the playoffs, but during the regular season. Come on.

I remember the Kings getting absolutely roasted on the main boards for dropping streamers from the rafters after each playoff win during the 2012 run.

I always say in the NHL that one player doesn't make that much difference.

But over the course of a season, guys like Arividsson and Danault make a few extra plays here and there that we weren't getting last year.

It adds up and you end up winning a handful more games that you otherwise wouldn't have won without them.

In Danault's case, it might be more than a handful.

Lakers have been doing that since forever.

Wasnt it because they were going to lose him for nothing in the expansion draft?

I love how they took him on a down year when he had an uncharacteristically low shooting percentage and getting over that injury.

You guys notice that anyone they stick with Danault is automatically elevated to a much better player? Not seeing that as much with Kopi this year.

That could've been one of the uglier 3 game losing stretches in a while. 7-0 at home, quickly lose a 3-1 lead on the road, and quickly go down 3-1 on the road. Those GA in bunches have been a problem lately.

A win is a win though. Stop the bleeding. Need that Buffalo game, because there's nothing particularly easy until the end of the month.

He actually had 2 down years in a row - .5 pts a game. i was worried that was the new trend w him. Maybe he just needed the right kind of center to work with like Danault

Has Kopitar ever done that? On the flip side, Danault has never had a 35 goal season, a 90pt season, or been considered as a league wide MVP. Also, not only won't get 1,000pts, but may not end up with more career pts than Kopitar has goals. And Kopitar isn't a "goal scorer" by any stretch.

Different strokes.
