I had to like, unlike, like, unlike a thousand time just so I can click Like again and again. The winning record of this team seriously has nothing to do with coaching. The wins are because we actually have some decent players this year and sometimes the vets show up. But Todd is brutal.
 
How much is Todd McLellan being paid again? That's right he's the second highest paid coach in the NHL. Well deserved.

Oh and by the way we've got the 24th ranked first line in the league in five-on-five goal differential. They actually have a negative goal differential. So your eyes aren't lying to you when you see that line leaking goals.

Lizotte and Byfield both had rough games, which really handicapped the forward lines.

There's some concerning elements to Byfield's game.

The Kings have given up 6 short handed goals now? That's pathetic.

Definitely, particularly the fact that he's playing with an absolute boat anchor in Brown and an individualistic one-trick pony in Athanasiou.

I won't dispute that he made a couple of noticeable mistakes today but it also doesn't put him in a great spot to play with the two players he's with.

Take Byfield off that line and I'll show you the two real problems with it.

I'm not gonna fault the 19 year old in his 11th nhl game backchecking his balls off for making mistakes learning on the job when two other veterans can't even find the right zone, never mind the right check.

TMac has the best hair amongst any coach at any time in NHL history though some of his past teams have made him grey prematurely
 
Let’s use cancel culture to our advantage and accuse Todd of racism and xenophobia for not playing Byfield and Kaliyev. Let’s get this train going since it’s like the only way Blakey boy will fire him.

Yeah, Byfield had a rough game. I wish he was playing with a guy like Iafallo to help him on the defensive side of things. That seems to be a theme amongst rookies: defensive struggles. It doesn't help that he's paired with two of our worst defensive players in Athanasiou and Brown either.

Yes that salary is suspect - id like to see if there were any wire transfers Koala -> Blake about that time
 
Byfield will go through his bumps as a rookie. All of them do. Hell Zegras is a minus 11 and even the HOFer Seider is a minus 2. It's all part of the learning curve. Not worried about him.

Blake has mostly hired friends and people like HookKing don’t seem to find anything wrong with that

Exactly. AA is a trash hockey player who fools non-hockey-players with his flash and production that doesn't outpace his on-ice lack of awareness, he's a liability and will always be a 'good player on a bad team.' He'll be 28 soon, he's not a prospect; I like him enough and I've been rooting for him to maybe put it together with guys like Danault and Iafallo but so long as TM isn't even going to try to play to guys' strengths he is going to get exposed and--in turn--f*** over those around him all day every day when it comes to actually putting up Ws.
