Give it up, bro. You're not good at this.

Exactly, nobody's saying Kopi shouldn't be playing the most minutes of the forwards. Just that he shouldn't be playing 21+ freaking minutes. 19+ is exactly where he should be. Anyone who thinks that he has looked even "fine" over the last 2 months is blind. Kopitar last night equaled the total amount of goals he scored in November and December and the first 12 days of January combined. He's overworked. Nobody has advocated he hand over first line duties or Danault play more minutes than him. Doughty was just a little under 24 minutes, which is where he should be too now. You don't play Kopi and Drew max minutes because they can. Not if you want them to have any gas left in the tank.

Did you type those last 2 sentences with a straight face?

That was the easiest part of the post.

See, here's the thing - everyone who criticizes on these boards, whether it's the team, player, or management, wants the Kings to do well.

People have different ideas to accomplish that. Such as integrating youth better, organizational direction decision, and hiring better advisors. Others like to lick boots and pretend they're smarter than the critics even though they don't have an original thought on anything substantial on the topic.

If you wanted to do research, my concerns about needing to fix the development and infrastructure stems back to the Lombardi era, when Kings17 and bland were big champions of trading Kopitar, Carter, etc.

I disagreed with them heavily, and sometimes still give them shit, but they know I respect the hell out of them, because they put themselves out there with an original thought with a genuine desire to make the team better.

So you can keep pretending you're a better fan because you don't have concerns. I hope the Kings do well. If they continue to succeed in spite of my concerns, I look forward to learning from it and evaluating at a new angle. Or, maybe they'll succeed and later on they'll address organizational shortcomings.

Either way, it's Kings hockey. I'll enjoy it, whether things go well or poorly. I am more prospect-focused anyway, and no matter how poorly the Kings do in the season, I look forward to the draft.

You defaulting to thinking I or others are not fans or "hoping the Kings lose" just shows how little you know. Instead of just enjoying the win, you went out of your way to start shit with others to try to ruin their enjoyment. Talk about douchey.

I bet I've been to more games in person this season than some of these folks complaining about complaining. You think my ass drives from Eastvale and pays $25 for freaking parking to attend a game and hope the Kings lose because I disagree with decisions made by the coaching staff and FO? Then that long drive home? Get over yourselves.

Last night was a night Kopi could've played fewer minutes, but he was our best FO guy by far. It's no surprise Todd kept sending him over the boards to take extra draws. And Kopi being Kopi wouldn't just take a draw & head straight to the bench.

Only took a hundred or so years

It's nice that a lady has the chance to do play by play I'm all in for that but my goodness she's just un-everything. Hopefully one day there will be one that isn't so horrific.

We talk about the disgusting nepotism in the NHL...so there is this female on NHL radio covering the Blackhosers.. and I'm thinking "who the hell is this she is terrible...cliches galore, saying nothing interesting or incisive...turns out her last name......Chelios... his daughter.

We put Cammi Granato on the Radio doing color in .... 1998! Everyone else is just catching up.
CAMMI GRANATO

I’m going to go to bed tonight with this game in the front of my mind. I can already predict what my dreams will be like:

Luc Robitaille will be standing at a podium addressing Kings fans and media…suddenly he peels a thick layer of rubber latex off his face…revealing Dean Lombardi. “It was me all along!”

Hey, if that's what it takes to get into bed with Stacia....
<cough><cough>

The animosity is strong in here. It’s like we are on a 10 game losing streak not coming off a great home stand.

You need to take a break!

At the end of the day we all want the team to succeed. Hell, I gave Kempe a lot of shit this season but he has proved me wrong. It's an eye test- if they look bad, I'm calling them out. I hope the team continues to prove me wrong when I doubt them lol

I'm even liking Brown again*, on line 3...where he's better suited and with the 12 minutes of ice. He and Kupari and Turcotte look good together. Don't give up on Rasmus,
he's got immense skills, tremendous skating, physical and adept defensively. 8 points now, is not horrible for his amount of ice and role. Turcotte looking good at center
or left wing. He's going to score any game and even have a 2 point game. I'm not worried.

Speaking of youth, does anyone have a Durzi jersey yet? Crikey. Blows me away. I would not trade him for Muzzin...and we have Bjornfot and Grundstrom.
He looks better with the puck than any King since Lubo on the PP. So deceptive, quick feet, great moves, sick passes and can shoot the puck and get it through
or in the back of the net. When he moves in to about 40 feet, he's almost lethal. And he's only 19 games in and has 10 points.

The youth is here and more coming in waves...with 3 more in the next year or 2, that may be even the best yet: Byfield, Clarke, Chromiak. Vilardi can
still make an impact. At this rate, I see 1 or 2 going for a Chychrun or another elite piece. So be it. Just keep Quinton, Arty, Clarke, Durzi, please.
Would prefer to keep Turcotte and Chromiak too. All in all, how can anyone complain where this team is and where it's headed?

* but please, do not extend contract...about 5 young forwards are killing it, or about to kill it and need spots.

You lost me at Kupari. I don't see any future with this team. At the moment he's just a place holder for Byfield. He's just doesn't know how to drive the play for a 3rd line center in the NHL. Any deal to get a LHD will include him for sure.

I agree. He will have a long career in the NHL, but in LA he will have to adapt to a middle six wing spot. Trouble is that he prefers and is performing better up the middle. The team will have better options very soon, so it would appear that he is the best option to be included in a deal.

I feel the same about Vilardi too, strong talent, glad to have him, but he will have to commit to the wing. Sounds like there is some resistance to that idea, but the production isn't suffering during that transition.

Seeing yourself as a center and being asked to convert to wing can be seen as an insult, so it takes a bit more than just on ice positioning to successfully embrace that role. Those demotions reveal a lot about a kids character, hopefully Gabe is taking it in stride and everyone profits.

Gabe absolutely has the tools & toolbox both to survive on the wing, and I hope he can find the attitude to go along with it.

Kupari is certainly headed to the trade fodder route, he just isn’t good enough to displace another center in the organization, and isn’t effective enough to play elsewhere.

I was worried when Gabe first when down to Ontario, he body language was all wrong, but he ‘seems’ to be more committed to the whole ‘wing thing’ now. Perhaps he has managed to get his head around it and has now bought in to it. The production is there but obviously it’s not that simple but hopefully he earns a look soon

Kupari has a future if for some reason the Kings don’t re-sign Kempe. Very similar styles.

I agree that Kupari is on a similar path as Kempe was albeit about a year or so older. Just from a purely statistical standpoint, Kupari produced more at the AHL level and pretty similar so far to Kempe's first NHL season (again albeit him being a year or so older). I recall some people were not so impressed with Kempe either for his first few years.

I think though they play actually very different styles. Kupari is more a east-west player. Kempe is north-south power.

That being said, Kupari hasn't looked so great at the NHL level.
