When the Kings beat a team that played on a back to back, “they should win the other team played last night”

When the Kings lose when they play on a back to back, “I’m tired of the back to back excuse, these are millionaire athletes”

You can believe what you want. Simulation is just calculations based on stats or some kind of analytics. The teams still have actually play each other and the Kings just escaped in a shootout.

No shit.

I didn't post that for anything but fun, I didn't reach a single conclusion from it, and didn't comment on it in any other way. Maybe you should get some fresh air.

Glad to get two points. Lots of guys played well, including Lizotte, Kempe and Kopitar. With that said, Kopitar's ice time tonight was absolutely ridiculous. This was a random game not even halfway through the season, not game 7 on the Cup Final. 26 minutes is absurd

Pretty sure he played 3 min in OT. Todd really needs to stop running the same 6 guys in OT, they looked gased about the 4 min mark . I think Kempe had 5 shifts in OT. There is some skill in the bottom 6 , so use them, plus why put Roy out there every other shift and leave Durzi on the bench?

Considering he’s supposed to be a real off ice problem I thought Lemieux gave a really good, honest and professional post game interview.

And Kempe is fully our best forward for the season, imo is fulfilling his potential right now. The guy is absolutely dominant at times and has figured out how to not just USE his size and speed but how to time it to be unstoppable too (all those late-play jumpins tonight were higher IQ plays than he typically made before).
Some seriously need to eat some crow.

Yes Kempe’s play can be annoying at times but he didnt deserve the treatment he got from some here. He is not 100% mistake free.

I always defended him. Last season you already saw signs he took his play to next level but some just cant see it.

Sounds like a previous King that was traded numerous times on here for a bag of pucks...Jake something or other I believe.

It is rumors and I am sure there is probably some truth to it since he is 25 and is on his 3rd NHL team.

However, certain people in life grow up in the shadow of their dad. It sort of reminds me of Lt. Pete Mitchell.

Pete was a great fighter pilot. However everyone thought of his dad before they thought of the merits that Pete brought to the table. Most don't know that Duke Mitchell was involved in a dogfight that some say was the worst they have seen. Duke's F4 was hit and he could have made it back to base but he stayed in the fight and saved 3 other planes that day. Now this may have occurred over the wrong border so the bravery he showed that day wont be talked about because it could end some peoples career.

Brendan is in some ways is Pete. Brendan is even called "Pepe" the nickname of his father, one of the most hated players in all of NHL history. Like Tony DeAngelo, I see both of these players in sort of the same light as they grew up to be the brats their parents allowed them to be, but have realized they are on their final chance to become a part of this league and have started to grow up.

I myself am a big fan of the kid. Besides his handsome good looks, he brings it, every shift. He's kind of our modern day Lappy, except Lappy didn't bite and Brendan can't smell his own ear.

Go Kings!

No doubt that there were past issues but as you essentially said he’s grow up and is no longer a kid. He’s certainly not his old man.

I disagree. The talent was always there, but he often looked disinterested, passive, and would absolutely kill momentum with offensive zone penalties. Those were always the criticisms against Kempe and they were 100% valid. The reason he's having so much success this year is that those things have all but dissipated. He's so fun to watch this year though, really glad it's all coming together.

Maybe it's just me, but Danault, Arvidsson, Moore were clearly the worst line last night.....discombulated, fatigued at times, (cant blame Danault coming back from Covid etc) but they don't work, problem is, the 1st line is working, the Lizotte is working, so what combination do you make with Danault, Arvidsson, Moore, Turcotte, Kupari, Grundstrom, Lias Andersson and AA......

You could certainly make some better lines out of those players. I think Moore needs to sit for a bit, but here's how I'd line up the middle six:

Andersson - Danault - Kupari
Grundstrom - Turcotte - Arvidsson

That's not bad....I think Arvidsson needs to get away from Danault, I like Moore, but he's run of the mill at this point, he's a good energy guy, good PK etc, but meh

A recurring theme this year is when a line isnt clicking and is the worst line in that game Trevor Moore is on it.

Everyone has loved the skillset but he's mostly left us wanting more. High hopes for him since the prospect pool was so barren and he flashed in the Calder Cup run. Then you have the 2018 season where you expect him to follow that up with more progression but he mostly floundered but it looks like the main reason was what most of us said: he should not be a center at the NHL level.

He has as many hits this season as all of last season. This coincides with what I keep saying about this team and this sport: effort and buy-in can trump an overall lack of high-end talent. When your players that actually have high-end talent put out maximum effort, then you are really cooking with gas. Playing wing allows him to use his skillset more effectively but he is also fully embracing it this season.

His current hit pace is 121 over 82 games. Same pace over 56 games would be 82 hits: he had 47 in 56 games last season. Granted, he paced for more goals last year than in his career year in 2018 but 2018 is also his career year in hits and he only played 13:20 a game. Hitting creates loose pucks, keeps shifts going in the offensive zone, leads to drawn penalties and gets the players and the crowd into the game. To that end, he's on pace to shatter his career high in shots on goal as well.

I'll say all these good things and then I will also say this: contract year. Money is a big motivator and he makes peanuts.

I dunno I thought all lines were clicking and I thought Moore had a noticeably fine game. Danault lost Iafallo but was still able to cause havoc with Moore and Arvy in the correct zone of play.
