When was the last time the Ducks made a big trade of any value? They never moved anyone when they were good around 2011-2017 and that was with a young group of dmen that were very highly rated.

Kesler but he was older.... Chychrun fits our window much better. We also tried for PLD and Eichel but they wanted Zegras/Drysdale which obviously not happening.

Under the radar moves, Shea Theodore, Tomas Harley, Soucy, Dunn from the Kraken, if Blake is willing to enquire and spend the assets.

We have a cheaper version of Dunn in Sean Durzi.

I'm not sure why Murray held onto all his prospect and never put together the kind of deal Lombardi did to make your team better. You had the assets, but he never moved anyone that I can remember that really had a big effect on your team.

Agreed we definitely could have won another cup if we did. Trading Karlsson and losing Theodore for nothing also hurt but atleast we got something to look forward to now with some lucky players that fell to us recently.

We would have made it past Chicago in that game 7 if we had 1 more player. Kings weren't even in it that year.

Here is his CF% against quality of competition. He's always gotten easy starts, yet can't even get over 50% with his possession numbers.



Here is his GF% vs. QOC. Middling at best. Notice that his one good season offensively he faced the second weakest competition in his career.



Here is his DFF% (dangerous fenwick) vs QOC. Average, nothing special. Barely generating more danger than allowing it against middling to low competition doesn't say much.



If you look at graphs like this for Seth Jones, outside of his first two years in Nashville where he was a young guy on a stacked defense, his points are at the top of the graph (elite competition) and shifted to the right just about all seasons.

Between the injuries and underlying metrics there are a lot of red flags with Chychrun and a ton of risk. There is a very good chance whoever gives up a big package for him is going to be disappointed in what he brings. Fun fact: Mikey Anderson's danger%, CF%, and GF% are better this year than ANY of Chychrun's seasons, and he does it against absolute top competition. He's been amazing with Doughty, they have great synergy. I absolutely wouldn't include him in a deal.

Are these team relative?

Because if they're not, they don't tell us much other than that he's on a shitty team. We need to know how much he's outperforming them. Hint: this year, i'ts not at all. Last few years, it was by LARGE orders of magnitude.

I wonder if they would consider bringing Gabe V? I'd probably prefer to simply move Fagemo there.....or even Turc or Kupari on the wing. I'm gonna guess it's Brown moving up to the first line though

Chychrun at fair value is a fine defensemen, but he is not worth the ransom being suggested. One good season amidst a career of oft-injured decency isn’t basis for an overpayment on a decent player.

Maybe because there's no way in hell a cup contender is trading a near Norris level defenseman? Don't see anyone advocating to trade Makar or Hedman either.

If Chychrun is so good like so many in AZ make him out to be, why are they looking to trade a 23 year old? Typical loser ass team mentality, 10 years from now they'll still be rebuilding and trading pieces. Ridiculous. If you're serious about building something that is a player you keep and make your captain.
