It’s the cost that raises concerns. Everyone has their own definition of value and untouchables. Personally I would be fine to swap out JC for a 2022 protected first, Kempe and Turcotte. A fourth player would be overpayment at that point. So would swapping in Vilardi, Kaliyev or Clarke for Turcotte. Byfield is my untouchable.

Is it worth getting in a bidding war for Chycrun? Maybe if you’re just looking to fill holes on the roster, but it seems like tunnel vision to me to view things in that lens.
Add in his knee issues.. ACL and all

100%

I'd still trade 2 1sts and a roster player/prospect ,and not even think twice, Chycrun at 23, is a 100% guaranteed NHL player, the 2 1sts are not, I take a sure thing over a gamble.....

Now if Chycrun was 27 and a UFA or even a RFA, that's another story altogether, context matters.
Yea first round picks, prospects like kupari, vilardi, jad, andersson, spence, grans, fagemo, madden, and roster players like lizotte, moore, walker, roy should all be made available for chychrun. If they ask for byfield, turcotte, clarke i think you have to say no thanks.

Turcotte would be the only one I would think on, and that would depend on what else, Byfield and Clarke in a package is a no go, Clarke by himself, I think you have to.

Lizzote is where I draw the line!

I would think so, but again, going by what Blake and Yannetti have said about Clarke.. I get the feeling that’s a no

Very possible, I guess it depends on how they view Clarke, and can he play right out of juniors without spending time in the A

It seems stupid to mention him in a trade but Arizona has a lot of expiring contracts and do need low cost NHLers for next season. I think theyd rather have him as a sweetener in a deal than a cap dump.

Granted this is Yannetti speaking but he has gone on record as saying Clarke is Doughty-lite.. the best offensive Dman they’ve ever drafted.. I mean, damn… they didn’t even have that praise for Byfield

Tell me...how well did Griffin Reinhart slot in in the Isles D ? # 4 OA right?

You have one thing right, price absolutely matters.....but to talk about Clarke, Faber, Grans, like they are 100% surefire locks, is absolute insanity.

I never said they are sure fire, but they are three lottery tickets for striking on a good defenseman in your lineup regularly. I am sure Chycrun is talented but I would not trade the farm away for him, especially considering we are in the top 10 I believe in GAA. I would rather wait and see what pans out with our D prospects, then to overpay. If Eichel did not have serious injury issues that is one player that would have been worth packaging prospects because he is a generational talent that has proven to be able to score consistently for many seasons. Trading Turcotte and Vilardi along wiht a pick for a guaranteed legit goal scorer would be a move to make for example (except for the serious injury history). But Chycrun is still young, and having an off season. Who knows what he becomes 2-3 years from now, and who knows how successful Clarke and co. become in those years.

The point is the Kings are not in a win-now mode, and there is no reason to sell the farm for Chycrun.

Anyone who doesn’t want Chychrun on this team is nuts…

If you look at the pieces being thrown around, you'd think he's prime Erik Karllson, who plays real good defense . He's good, but giving up so much would gut our pipeline. I don't think it's gonna take as much as everyone thinks. A 1st [ perhaps other picks ] , a roster guy or 2 top prospects. Then you have to find the cap space in a few year when his 9.5 mil a year contract extension kick in.

They should convert Danault to a defenseman for this game if Anderson can’t go.

Welp, the last time they lost Drew... :P Part of me is fine with Drew getting more of a rest though. I can't believe he came back soon from that injury. He is a warrior. We won't fully understand how lucky we've been to have him till he is gone.

That's honestly because of Quick. They're currently tied for 5th. If he was having the same season as he was last year, the Kings are about 18th overall in GAA. If he's having the same season as Peterson is, they drop even further, to 20th. Whether those numbers are on the goalies entirely, the defense entirely, or a bit of both...that's tough to say. They're a groin injury to #32 away from dropping pretty...quickly.

So...

Wolanin - Roy
Bjornfot - Anderson
Maatta - Durzi

If Mikey can't play, do we bring up Strand or Moverare? What a mess.

It sounds like Mikey is available, no?

Dear god, that means both Maatta and Wolanin are starting…

My eyes! The goggles, they do nothing!

One one of the worst teams of the DECADE...of two DECADES......

I don't get it, everyone gets upset when people say Doughty this, or Doughty that, he couldn't do this etc, and everyone on this board puts their dick in their hand saying, yea but the Kings are bad.....etc so it's an excuse for Doughty, but for no one else?

Chycrun hands down becomes our #2 D, at the age of 23....10+ years left.....yea, let's say no because he plays for a shitty team.....some of you guys make my f***ing head hurt.

It's not that people don't want him
It's what we will be forced to give up.
We suffered for years and years slowly collecting the pieces we think are right.
Now you want to throw all this out for an all in move that doesn't make us much better.
Actually there is a huge chance that i will make us worse in the long run.

Nobody would complain if it would be like Clark for Chyrum or Turcotte for Chyrum, even our 1st for would be a great trade.
But the outrageous asking price of multiple 1st rounders plus our rage offense potential is the no go.

In this case, i let another team bleed out for something we don't really need that much.
We are 6th best team in goals against but one of the worst teams scoring goals since years.
If we can get 6th best in GA and 6th best in GF, we are cruising to the cup.

Chyrum is not the missing piece
