Everybody coming up with their line-ups like

maxresdefault.jpg

Iafallo - Kopitar - Ardvisson
Kempe - Danault - Brown
Athanasiou - Byfield - Vilardi
Andersson - JAD - Moore

Anderson - Doughty
Edler - Roy
Bjornfot - Walker
Maatta

Petersen
Quick

A realistic lineup to start the season is probably really close to this. If I had to guess, there are just a couple changes:

Iafallo - Kopitar - Ardvisson
Kempe - Danault - Brown
Andersson - Vilardi - Athanasiou
Grundstrom
- JAD - Moore

As for the defensive pairs, the left and right sides are likely set, even if they mix the pairings now and then.

What's exciting is that even without many of our top prospects, the current lineup has a lot of potential for break-out years and higher ceiling -- guys like Moore, Kempe, Lias and Vilardi could break out. Heck, you could even add JAD and AA as guys would could have a bigger year. Adding two proven top 6 guys to the lineup in Danault/Ardvisson will help elevate others. Then you got AK, Byfield, Kupari & Turcotte who could all make their way into the lineup and provide offensive (& goal scoring) spark. Good times ahead

What kind of crap is that we just saw? So many of our brilliant minds on this site have been complaining since day one that the man is clueless, incompetent and has no plan at all.

He's not even sleeping, wtf?

Just to recap our summer:

In: Phillip Danault, Alex Edler, Brandt Clarke, Francesco Pinelli, Samuel Helenius, Kirill Kirsanov
Out: Kurtis MacDermid

We are without a doubt a better organization than we were two weeks ago. Not even a question.
...and not even a peep of conspiracy that Luc had a hand in getting Danault here.

I'm not a fan of Luc or Blake just because I feel like I haven't gotten a good enough read on them yet, but Blake definitely deserves a thumbs up today. The Danault signing is not perfect, but it's also far from terrible, and it absolutely improves the lineup. Edler is a solid depth signing.

That'll do, pig. That'll do.

The last time we got a defenseman from Vancouver, it was Ben Hutton, and that wasn't super great actually. But the time before that, it was... well, I guess it was Christian Ehrhoff, kind of, so that wasn't that great either. But the time before that! Well, that was Willie Mitchell, and that worked out pretty darn well.

So what you’re saying is we’re due for another success.

So who is? Andersson, Grundstrom, and JAD I guess? Is that our fourth line?

The nice thing is we may have to trade a few bottom 6 guys if others have a good camp. Kupari will get a good look but I think they’re fine with having Thomas, Byfield, Kaliyev and Turcotte playing the AHL.

Team will definitely be better this year. How much depends on what kind of steps forward the young guys take. Kudos to Blake. I still don’t like his face but he continues to take steps forward so good job there Bowlby.

In 2012 and 2014 the key was to treat CBJ as our farm team. But what was unheralded was to swipe a key UFA defenseman from the Canucks.
