Lias Andersson will be on waivers/sent down a month into the season.
This was the end of last year. Worth noting, the 12 and 13 teams they mentioned that would rank lower than the Kings when combined are Anaheim and Colorado. Kings are loaded and ready for battle.
"The Los Angeles Kings have the best prospect pool in the NHL. They've consolidated their hold on the top spot so firmly, it's hard to imagine them much lower than this for at least the next two or three seasons.
They're the only team in the league with 15 prospects who rate at an FV (Future Value) of five or better -- an FV grade of 5 suggests a reasonably high level of confidence among our scouts that the player in question will develop into a full-time NHLer.
The Kings 15 best prospects generated a cumulative FV more than 100 points greater than that of the No. 2-ranked New York Rangers system; we could combine the FV outputs of the No. 12 and 13-ranked teams in this series, and still fall six points short of the Kings.
The players who couldn't squeeze their way into Los Angeles' top 15 would be a formidable prospect pool unto themselves, with Lukas Parik, Kim Nousiainen, Jordan Spence, Sean Durzi, Aidan Dudas, and Alex Laferriere, among others, highlight a reserve group that would perhaps trump some team's frontline prospects.
It's an embarrassment of riches for the future, but it's come at no small expense to the present. The Kings under Rob Blake's stewardship have stripped this thing down to the foundation, moving every contract they could short of their three franchise players at every premium position -- Anze Kopitar, Jonathan Quick, and Drew Doughty.
It's made all the difference in the world. In their Dir. of Amateur Scouting Mark Yannetti, the Kings already have one of the draft's best sharpshooters, and now he's got the ammunition to hit every moving target."
The EliteProspects Rinkside 2020-21 Off-Season Prospect Pool Rankings: the No. 1-ranked Los Angeles Kings - EP Rinkside
Lias Andersson will be on waivers/sent down a month into the season.
Yep, It's why I was bummed we couldn't work something out to move back into the 1st for Wallstedt.
These prospect pool rankings are cool and all, but until three or four really breakout, I am not very optimistic. To see that, we need roster spots to give the kids a fair shake. Hopefully we can phase out the plugs from the lineup to give the kids a chance.
This is a good watch. Minny was also pushing extremely hard to move up to snag him (which is obviously what happened).
and Blake confirmed that his 2nd rounder wasn't enough to entice any GM's. Such is life.
Not anymore, as of yesterday. Are you guys expecting QB to make the team out of camp?
Everyone is guessing on the bottom 6 and which prospects make it. In reality much will come down to training camp. There are several jobs up for grabs and it’s going to be the most competitive camp I can recall. JAD, Byfield, Andersson, Kalyev and Turcotte will be chasing a spot on the roster. Lizotte and Wagner will likely be the spares carried on the NHL a roster as they will not want the guys that are waiver exempt sitting on nights they aren’t playing. However, every spot will be earned this year and camp is going to be a lot of fun.
If all goes perfectly AA gets moved at the deadline when Turcotte or Kalyev step up.
Lukas Parik is the only one goalie prospect with some level of talent
This position must be upgraded now.
That's kinda how this rebuild thing works. These prospect pool rankings are cool and all, but until three or four really breakout, I am not very optimistic. To see that, we need roster spots to give the kids a fair shake. Hopefully we can phase out the plugs from the lineup to give the kids a chance.
I think the plan for the upcoming season is to have a full season in the AHL for QB-Turcotte-Kaliyev and most other drafted prospects. That includes Clague. Let them dominate and also gives Wrobo a full year to work with them.
Tkachev left money in the KHL to earn a spot. At 25 he may have the inside track. Wagner, Lizotte may need to be waived if a kid like him really impresses in camp.
It's another season where watching the Reign is probably more exciting that watching the Kings.
