While I agree there is a good chance the Kings will shop Walker this off-season, both he and Roy are signed for two more years AFTER this season, so just expecting them to be gone before the end of next season doesn't seem realistic, especially with Roy. He's a coaches favorite on D, to dump veteran D players if the Kings are in the hunt both this year and next for the playoffs during the year and replacing them with a kid might be a bit optimistic. Yes, none of us know how things will play out. And don't get me wrong, I really like the Kings RHD prospects, especially Faber and Clarke. Spence is playing very well too, but he still gets exposed on D and will next some more time to improve. Grans also has some solid upside and size, but his gap control needs work. Both are young though. And then we have Durzi. So it's a nice problem to have for sure. Both Sean Walker and Matt Roy are going to be off the roster before the end of next season. Roy is a very good shutdown defenseman. But Faber's ceiling is so much higher. And the dude just shuts down people at every level in every competition and is more well-rounded than any of our other shutdown defenseman.
