Welcome to the new reality, not sure how NBA and NHL are going to get thru the season given the spike in variants coming to NA

I was just about to post that we should prepare ourselves for some Covid absences, and low and behold Toews gets flagged. I just read that there was an absurd amount of players in the NFL that just tested positive as well. You just kind of have to deal with it at this point unfortunately :(

From what I have read about Omicron’s transmissibility, it sounds like one needs to be boosted to be fully protected.

I'm guessing in a few months fans won't be allowed into buildings again.

I'd say a lot sooner then that tbh. At least here in Canada

Wouldn't surprise me if after the Holiday break they go back to fanless games in Canada for at least thr next couple of months.

I've got tickets to Edmonton/Anaheim next week, at this point I'm just hoping they keep fans going until that point.

I wouldn't worry about that. Have you seen the bar scene in Edmonton? They ain't shutting down shit

God f***ing dammit. It looked like he was battling through a bit of a funk against Florida, so it makes sense. Man...another stoppage is looking more and more likely at this point.

Yeah, it's a necessity at this point.

Also, the NHL needs to get a f***ing plan together here. To not offer up immediate cap relief for players in protocol is insanely stupid.

Moose country

Now I have to watch your game. That's my guy from the Mooseheads.
been throwing support at him for years quietly from the Sharks board lol. His lateral skating and smoothness for his size is something else.
2020 NHL Draft
Post-Game Talk: - Sharks vs. Golden Knights Game 1 - Sharks win 5-2

Been saying that since we drafted him how damn good he is. I get a bird's eye view of every single mooseheads game from the zamboni pit so I had up close and personal reasons to know how likely he was to succeed.

Interested to see where Raphael Lavoie gets drafted. hell of a shot and mobile big kid, but the real guy I am waiting to see drafted is Justin Barron next year. My god this kid has it

There will probably be some postponements and also likely some more cases on the Avs. Hopefully no one winds up with long covid symptoms

So Marchand (BOS), Barzal (NYI), Toews (COL), Lomberg (FLA) all in protocol as of today. Calgary is pretty much all in protocol. Vancouver has some players,, Carolina has some players, sounds like Nashville has a handful too.

The LA Rams and Cleveland Browns have have a dozen players too on their team in COVID protocol.

I'm fully expecting a pause by the weekend, and make up the games during the Olympic break, which I bet players won't be going to anymore.

Look at it this way. The Avs probably have additional infected players now and don’t know it. Even if we lose to the Rags tonight, we’ll infect them too and mess those guys up.

If the league was smart they'd postpone games beginning this Thursday or Friday until after Christmas, including a pause on practices for at least a week from the point of stoppage. Better to make a plan that hits all 32 teams and is built around a brief break that was already on the calendar.
