No way to sugarcoat it, 29th is absolutely wretched. Can't believe it's that bad.

The thing is, by percents it’s always been bad. Too big a market with to many non-hockey fans.

If you look at raw numbers the Kings were usually middle of the pack. But always bottom tier on a percent basis. (12-14 maybe a little higher)

Season just ended. There's 5 months until the next season gets going and at least what two months until draft?

I mean these aren’t player holes? The offseason is the real season for these guys? If anything it’s like starting a game with only 4 players on the ice.

Lost the fox regional stations in multiple ways , fox and then Hulu , now I just stream the games . It’s a little more aggravating but I get to chose what broadcast to watch and found out St. Louis was good along with Colorado I think, as always ducks and Vegas sucked

Agreed...Futa was never replaced. Hextall left months ago. It would be good to have some fresh views and someone brought in that is knowledgeable about players in the league...kind of
like when the Pens brought in Hextall, he has a wealth of knowledge of all the players in the West. And like when the Kings brought in Futa, he knew to get Simmonds from Owen Sound.
Or, like Wrobo brought in and he may have been pounding the table to move up to get Faber. So, I think it's key to get an Ast Gm here, pretty quickly.

Well looking at the 2000's rosters Jason Blake could be Asst. GM kind of a mini me of sorts. Then we have Steve Kelly or Kip Brennan to fill ther other spots. Glen Murray, Emerson, and Craig Johnson already have spots in the organization.

Have not seen this brought up....in just over 1 year, Futa, Hextall and Solomon are out of the organization.
Key places to fill. Any word? It's now just Bluc, running everything?

I don't know how involved Hextall's role was with the kings so not sure how Key that one is. I thought Futa was replaced?

Heard Billy Beane turned down an offer.

So we're hiring Arizona's director of hockey operations and assistant GM to run our hockey operations? Great move, their hockey operations are a well oiled machine. :help:

I'd say those problems are beyond the assistant GM's scope. He previously worked for the London Knights before being hired by the Coyotes, and he likely had many challenges he had to deal with in managing the cap on a team like Arizona.

So the Kings are going to be the Oakland Athletics of the NHL? Moneypuck.

Best sports movie scene ever...

Very true, but I worry about the effect the culture has on these guys, especially if they were very successful before. Arizona is a total dumpster fire! I'm rooting for him though, I hope he helps the Kings get back to winning!

Bad ownership is why that organization has had so much turnover and off-ice drama. Goldberg seems to have a solid hockey background, and the addition of someone who can offer an unbiased viewpoint is always welcome. The stuff that happened in Arizona doesn't concern me.

I'd like to see Kelly Buchberger hired as the team boxing coach.

Not sure if this was true or not, but there was a report that he made an on ice comment once to an opposing player "hey kid, want to win a fight?"
