I thought the same thing, until I realized it was posted in August.Do we have any healthy prospect right now?
3 years/9 millionSo, what does a multi-year Tkachev extension look like next summer?
3 years/9 million
But, but… that’s still no legsI still can't f***ing believe Todd f***ing Mclellan is our coach. If we ever win the cup with this bozo behind the bench I will personally buy @LT Dan a lap dance with a stripper that has at least 50% more legs.
Stop trying to make Maatta happen. It's not a thing.

Says the prsopects not on this list are better than #31 NY Islanders
I almost forgot about Faber. Man, this year could be fun but it’s only the beginning. How did they miss Chromiak? And Nousiainen. Clague downtrending hard, but the omission of these 2 is criminal.
I don't think Kupari can be 3 on this list, but holding out hope for him. Not down on him at all, though. Just needs
an identity and to figure out if he's a center or a wing. (and keep improving)
But Chromiak may be a 20+ goal scorer in the NHL in 2 years from now. He's that good.
I honestly think the Kings have turned the corner and moving out at 200 mph on the straightaway.
Danault, Arvidsson (and he's not even really hitting his stride yet - may never be 30 goals again, but going to bust out and have 4 goal weeks, I believe) Tkachev and Edler (while not incredible, is an upgrade to Maata, etc) have added enough to move the needle forward pretty firmly.
It's also the improved level of Vilardi and Anderson...and a bit more from Iafallo too.
Others like Andersson, Lemieux and Moore are better than the bottom 6 of yesteryear - Wagners, Luffs, etc. Makes a difference.
I'm really liking this team.
I would imagine we retain some salary to trade Maatta for a mid-to-late pick.
Wolanin didn't really wow me in preseason.
Maatta only goes if we are out of the playoffs at the deadline. No one wants him now and if by the deadline he'll be as good of a 7th/spare d-man as what's on the market for what we'd likely pay anyways.
[Maatta] started last season on the Kings top defensive pair, alongside Drew Doughty, a plan that was quickly abandoned for a variety of reasons. Once he settled in to a third-pairing role, Maatta’s underlying numbers dramatically improved. This season, he’s likely in a bit of a holding pattern. Currently filling LA’s seventh defenseman role, he isn’t expected to play very often. At least not at the moment. He will most likely draw in on occasion, perhaps replacing Toby Bjornfot or Alex Edler for a game here or there. A more likely scenario would see the Kings trading Maatta once another team loses a blueliner to injury and calls GM Rob Blake to inquire about the 27-year-old Swede’s availability.
Which brings us back to Wolanin. One of the reasons the Kings would probably be willing to part with Maatta is they’re fairly comfortable with the replacement options they have waiting in the wings – Wolanin (left shot) and Austin Strand (right shot). The two former players also come with a lower salary (less than 800K each compared to $3.3M AAV), so there would be some cap savings involved, even if the Kings had to retain some money in any potential Maatta trade. Even on top of that, there’s also additional value in removing a contract from the books, as LA is near the 50-player NHL limit.
It’s more a question of there being a market for him at this stage of the season. There are players being waived (and claimed) and team are still figuring out where they are. It then becomes a question of asking about which teams he’d help. The teams he would help probably just want to tank so until we get close to the deadline we won’t know which teams need play-off cover.I think he might go sooner than that.

Not that I particularly care either way, but given the logjam in Ontario, it would make sense for us to move him if the need arises.
