Not saying the Yotes would do this.....

Would you trade:

Vilardi
M.Anderson
Fagemo
2022 Top 5 protected 1st

For

Chychrun
one of their 15 2nd round picks this year.

Too much, Too little.....Thoughts?

LA wouldn't do this trade. Anderson has shutdown potential and is playing fine. Vilardi is a wildcard as he has great potential as a forward. Fagemo is the same, great potential. Chychrun is good but he's just not what the Kings need right now. Now if Crouse and Lyubushkin could be had for a B prospect and a pick, maybe there's a deal to be had here.

A 21-year-old 3C isn't too bad either — wish Kupari was a first line scorer though. Could still develop there.

So true. Gretzky played with Igor Liba, Dan Byslma and Bob Kudelski....but that was short lived, thankfully. They moved Nicholls, to get him Granato and Sandstrom.
By the time wingers Chromiak or Arty is peaking, Kopi will be that much slower.
Thats right, the whats was a great trade tho it hurt to lose Nichols. That brings up a good point they shouldve done that math on when to start the rebuild - probably 2 or 3 years too late but we'll see. I always cringe a little when Kopi is out there at the beginning of OT i feel like he's wiped out from all the hard minutes he puts in. How long will his legs last. I guess Danault supposed to help with that.

I mean we say that, but let's be honest. We've hyped guys up before that haven't panned out like we thought. Bernier, Lewis, Hickey, Moller, Teubert, Loktionov, Deslauriers, Forbort, Pearson, Zykov, Kempe, Amadio, even guys like Clague, Grundstrom, and Durzi are right on the edge there. Hell, is Brayden Schenn - with one career year of 70 points and nothing else above 60 - the high end of Turcotte? Would that line up with our expectations?

I mean, to be fair, most of those were mid first round or later (Hickey the rare exception). Not a lot in common with Byfield, Turcotte, Clarke. But the rest of the pool compares pretty well with most of them, no? I mean Kupari roughly = Lewis at this point with maybe Kempe upside. Grundstrom is pearson if he's lucky. Guys like Thomas would be 40 point guys if they punch up. I don't really see anyone hyping anything but the blue chips as they are blue chips and the depth for being depth--that is, lottery tickets and a LOT of them. Back when we were talking about the other guys we'd barely get ten prospects deep; now we went to 25+ before there was any real dropoff from B-level prospects. that's insane. They won't all play, but right now, they're all assets, and it's fun to watch and cheer them on.

Personally I do think there are some gems that will defy 'expectations' like Faber. I think Turcotte will be a regular 50-60+ point guy that brings everything else you want in a hockey player--think Iafallo with better hands and even better IQ. And if there's anything our org does well as you see from your examples, it's churning out 'average' NHLers. My worry is just what they do with the bluechippers or even A- prospects to bring out more offense because right now that's the part that's looking grim. And that's why I'm being conservative about point projections, too--like, I imagine Byfield to be a 90+ guy, but in this org, that'll be more like 70-80 because of the continued emphasis on checking as a game plan.

I would without a second deep breath. Which means Arizona wouldn't.

It's a lot but it's a lot of A- for A, where A doesn't ever get traded.

Seems to me Anderson and Bjornfot have been teriffic at 22 and 2o years old respectively. Too early to tell about the rest.
No, he rushed them. Another 3 years in junior and then 6 years in the AHL are needed before they get another brief call up.

The tragedy is that just one player not making it will lead him to concluding he’s absolutely correct.

I agree….Would you still do it if you swapped Vilardi with Turcotte?

Which is probably more fair but I probably wouldn't.

I'm that high on Chychrun, but I'm also that high on Turcotte.

If you're looking at it from an AZ perspective Fagemo is kind of a throw in even as a good prospect and a mid-to-late 1st is standard, the real prizes would be a cheap, efficient Mikey A and the high end C prospect. I'm sure an org closer to a championship would be more eager to purge the cupboards to make something work.

Saw this on the main trade boards (yeah, I know, why do I even go there?) and would do it as a Pens fan if the Pens keep sucking. But why in the world would the Kings do it? Am I missing something?

The person, who I don't think is a Pens fan, proposed:

"To Los Angeles: Guentzel

To Pittsburgh: Turcotte, Vilardi"

quick edit: wouldn't even work because of the cap

If we're closer to a cup, sure. Today, not a chance.

I think it is too much Qauntity for Quality for the yotes to accept. Also cap would be an issue.

I would go higher. Turcotte, Vilardi, top 5 protected first + Maata (for cap)

no thank you

Great, that Drew is close!
Knowing Todd, he will scratch Clague in favor of Mmaattaa. He'd better not. Clague is playing his best hockey yet. Maatta is MEH at best, horribrutal at worst. Keep Tobias and Mikeee together and put Clague with Drew. I bet Drew would help Kale elevate even more and see Kale activated more. With good to stupendous results.

Drew played with MacD and McNabb. Why not Kale? He's no longer a liability at all and could see him flourish with Drew. Each of them could take more chances, as the other is fast enough to get back and cover.

When Drew is back I hope Maata is waived (or dealt with LA retaining 50%). I would rather lose him on waivers than Clague.

I wouldn't do this trade at all.
Kings are still super high on Vilardi and he is going newhere after all the development they put into him
Anderson is a top minute very young defender
Fagemo is nothing else but a goal scorer, nobody gives up prospects like that
Why we add a 1st rounder is far beyond me

In general, the Coyotes have to go through a very hard time the next 5-6 years.
Sorry bud, we don't do your rebuild

If you insist on a Chychrum trade, you can pick freely of our 23+ age range in any combination or number your want.
Make an offer

Chychrun has 2 goals & 2 assists in 17 games! Only thing worse is the -22 in 17 games. He's on the ice for 1 more goal against than they score per game!

Just wait for him to demand a trade when he realizes how much playing on that team will effect his career.
