Speculation: 2021-21 LA Kings News, Rumors, Roster discussion part V

I would assume that “IF” we trade for a Dman, it’ll be someone like Sergachev who can play both sides.. I don’t see a reason why the Bjornfot-Anderson pairing get broken up anytime soon(maybe to pair with Brandt) so that could be our 3rd pairing. Brandt looks like he’ll be in the big club next year.. for reference I also think Powers, Hughes and Edvinsson will also be in the NHL.

Davis’ haircut is on a whole new level. And to think he bragged about driving 400 miles to get it done. At least he’s closer to his Palm Springs barber from his Vegas home. I thought he could have gone to a barber college to get that done.

Turcotte definitely deserves a cup of coffee here soon. The only issue is just the logjam we have all over the place with out prospects and the growing pains it creates. He was over ppg at World Juniors, wasn't too far off from Byfield as a rookie straight to the AHL, and now he is nearly ppg in the AHL. People like Pronman are trashing him, but he still has a lot of potential and is someone that we shouldn't be too quick to trade.

If they think Clarke is ready next year they should explore trading Doughty. Bjornfot and Anderson have proven to be capable. Kirsanov is already playing pro. Then if a couple of Spence, Grans, and Faber dont pan out you still have Roy and Clague.
Its unpopular to say because we all love Doughty but if they are thinking long term they should explore the idea. Hes still worth a lot right now.

If TB was going to get rid of him, and there's still no primary reason they would, you'd have to think Clarke is in that deal.

Well certainly not on the PK. Now who should Drew be paired with now? I think you have to keep Mikey and Tobi together. Maatta to the press box please. His incompetence is rubbing off on Roy. And thank goodness about moving Brown down the lineup. I've been saying this since last season, was the drop off after the hot start injury or the cliff? It's the cliff. He just got injured falling down it least season. Brown is 37...he's cooked.

Gonna be even more of a puzzle when Byfield comes back from injury. Does he get a spot right away or does he play in the AHL for a bit? Do we shift Kupari to wing and who's getting sent down if that happens? We've got a lot of bodies playing for a couple spots.

He will absolutely play in the AHL for a bit.

I would play him in the AHL for a handful of games, than call him up and send Kaliyev or Kupari down if we still have same lineup as now.

We know Blake was working the phone for a D man when Doughty and Walker both went down. I'd assume something came of those talks even if it's just a deal where we move out a body for a draft pick, like Lizotte for a 4th or something to clear room for Byfield when he returns.

I would sit Roy until he figures out how to make a pass to a "team mate" out of the zone. He's been awful all season.
