Not quite. I'd say he's much more physical and scrappy than Anderson will ever be.

He throws McNabb level hits.

Right, and Bjornfot is different than Anderson too, but my point is Lindgren-Anderson-Bjornfot doesn't really change anything, it's the same relative dimension. The issue with our backend isn't that it needs more of the same.

Then they need depth and NHL ready assets..
Unless they move McD, they’re in serious cap trouble with the raise Serg is due. They can’t sign Sergachev to a fair contract and still sign the need depth players..
if you replace Sergachev with Walker, add Kempe and Kupari to the middle 6 and still have a top 3 protected 2022 1st.. that adds tremendous value to your team.. assuming they view those players with the same value

To be clear, I'm not saying that they won't move him, just that it seems like a move they'd make in the off-season. Cup chasing teams don't usually move roster players for prospects and picks mid-season. They'll wait until the off-season and start deciding what to do then. In the meantime they'll likely spend more draft pick capital to get players to fill those gaps you mentioned, likely they've done in past seasons for Goodrow, Coleman, Savard, etc.

How Tkatchev is down in Ontario is far beyond me.
He was a highlight at the Kings and has now 9 points in 5 games.

Not sure what he has to prove

Well he was pretty bad in three of four games he played for us so far. That's the only reason he's down in Ontario to begin with. He'll get another shot at some point.

He has to prove he can actually shoot the dang puck. 5 games, 5 shots. Team needs more goal scorers not players that pass themselves into oblivion.

A lot. He looked fine in game 1, but after that he had a real hard time adjusting to the NHL level of play. He looked lost at times in the defensive zone and was caught cheating a few times trying to go on offensive when the play was still in front of him. That may work in the KHL, but not here.

I haven't watched every last minute but I haven't seen him take a shot in the AHL, either. Joe Thornton-esque really.

Maybe, but for a guy with a lot of offensive talent like Tkachev, have we considered playing him with some defensive guys and seeing how it goes? Play him with Arvidsson and Kopitar. We threw all three of Kaliyev, Vilardi, and Tkachev into a meat grinder and then said "Wow, they can't cut it."

True. Everyone on the team moves the puck SO WELL

Unless he starts banking the puck on the PP off Brown’s ass or teaching Roy not to just fire it into the logo on the goalies chest. We could use more guys that pass it around the perimeter for nobody to actually shoot the puck.

Kempe with a goal from his work in the front of the net.

That’s the great thing about moving Brown off Kopitar’s line. No matter who you replaced him, or what element they brought with them, they could do no worse, and likely more.

I'd just be happy with players that can hold onto the puck and move it effectively.

Or at least giving the opposition another talented forward to respect.

No, my numbers are correct. Its the last 41 games total, the equivalent of a half season. You appear to be looking up his numbers for the last 41 last season alone.

Zero in 16 this year, 2 in his last 25 last year. 41 games used as a half season measuring stick.

Apologies, I thought you were talking about last season.

A lot of people were down on Durzi's play last year in the AHL.

I know he's producing, but has something changed in his game? Is he that much better?

No he sucks in his own zone. But so did Clague in Ontario but he has been good with the Kings. Guessing many are hoping he can figure it out with the big club.

I think Durzi is a bit better on the PP and a bit worse on D than Clague. But he does seem to thrive on 'flow' too vs. choppy games so he could make it look good in the NHL. ...although not against AZ lol.

What's the reason for the durzi call up?

Apparently, not to play....so who knows why. Then again, Mayor gets more of his lineup calls wrong, than Eklund gets his E4s correct. Ecklund only gets his E5s correct; but that's after the deal is announced.

If they're going to call him up and NOT play him that's f***ing stupid with Ontario playing for the division lead today and tomorrow. Come on. It's like you're TRYING to f*** up asset mgmt as badly as possible.

So many headscratching moves in this org. If it's for like 100 bucks of cap space that's still bad mgmt.

They always carry 2 extra dmen, he was the 2nd . Look how long Strand played that role. He'll get his shot as long as Maata is on the team.

I understand that (roster size), it's just dumb that they do this to prospects and play literally worst on the team by any metric Maatta over rewarding any youth.

Looking at how long Strand played the role just illustrates how f***ed up it is. It's like they're going out of their way to wreck people's momentum. Bench Grundstrom after he plays the three best games of his career. Wait for Durzi to build confidence and go on an absolute bender--then call him up to ride the bench right when the AHL team plays their toughest test. Call up Strand because we're short on RHD, let him ride the bench for the worst dman on the roster. They did everything they could to bury Clague. And that's just in addition to the horrid mismanagement of the bluechip offensive talents (Kaliyev, Vilardi, Tkachev).

I have some serious questions and reservations about management and it just keeps getting worse.

But hey, at least Kopitar played another 23 minutes last night, he should look good today. Kupari should be nice and fresh for his 8 minutes after playing 8 yesterday. Development!
