I'm right here. You can talk to me like a grownup.
And you've already seen that, I typically get railed on for being too positive. For years now. It's actually really funny to me that people are piling on for me having a negative opinion of TM when usually people are piling on calling me a homer.
To be in the lineup? Sure. To be stapled to the top line? NopeLike it or not Brown has earned his leash.
That’s all fair. Regardless of whether I agree or not with your views/arguments they all have a vein of logic to them and ask fair questions… usually.
I think the question about how they are dealing with Vilardi behind the scenes is a very fair one. I suspect there’s a bit of blame on both sides with this one and given the comments about improving his draws in the past I could certainly see them struggling to get his buy in over playing wing. I stint in the AHL will certainly help that process but let’s see what they do with him. Nothing but conjecture on my part.
Grundström is a tough one because a winger needs to miss out and realistically who else does he sit? Brown ain’t sitting and 95% of coaches wouldn’t sit him either, so it’s him Kaliyev , AA or Moore? Lemieux has now turned himself into a key piece so that’s no longer an option and despite Grundys form no one (apart from the odd crazy on this board) is keeping him in the lineup over Arvidsson, Kempe or Iafallo. It’s not a simple choice; I presume they like Kaliyev’s direction and his development will be a priority, AA fills a different role and Moore provides plenty to his game even when he’s not scoring. So, it’s not an easy call and even though I don’t really like it all that much I do understand it.

Clague was 10th on the depth chart leaving camp. Wolanin was lost to waivers, Doughty and Walker were hurt. He outplayed one guy ahead of him, Strand, then outplayed Maatta once he got here. He wasn't handed anything, he earned it through circumstances THEN merit.Granted, I haven't been able to watch most games, from the games I've seen, Kaliyev is where he belongs, he hasn't played his way to more ice time, Grundstrom, is on the 3rd line along side Kupari and Moore, where else would you want him?
Clague was awful to start the season, what kind of message are you sending to EVERYONE else....kids included, if you hand them a spot DESPITE their play?
But yes, that's how kids get into lineups, veterans go down, with the exception of what, top 10 1st round picks etc, not many kids slot right into 20 min a game right away.....Tkachev, not sure the story there, maybe he got a bum deal, maybe he didn't, where would you play Kupari right now?
No team with just one playoff game win in 7 years should have any sacred cows relying on ancient past laurels.Like it or not Brown has earned his leash.
You should Google “straw man argument”. It’ll help you to stop arguing like a child.I give up. You win. The sky is falling, management is shit and we're f***ing doomed. f*** man, you'd swear this was the Sabres the way you rattle on about things. We're winning and there's nothing to show these kids aren't being developed the right way. Literally nothing.
I like it. But then again I trade crypto so what can I say?20 years for $700 million for Crypto.com Arena. This is a bigger travesty than the Taylor Swift banner.
Kaliyev is averaging 2:12 of PP time per game.
He's playing 12:18 per night with to solid linemates.
He's even gotten a few shifts on the top line.
HE'S 15 GAMES INTO HIS NHL CAREER. He's being handled just fine.
Unfortunately Lias is as healthy as a tuberculosis ward circa 1718.Before the season started, I was okay with Brown on the top line because of how many goals he scored last year. But watching him play this year, the number of give aways and other defensive lapses makes me want him off the roster. Gundstrom or Lias are better options than Brown. I sure hope they don't resign him, as it is time to move on.
DB is quietly having a good year.I definitely don't think it's an easy call and it's one they painted themselves into a corner with with this many people on the roster period. Good problem due to injuries apparently, and good depth to keep us chugging along (I think last year's team would have fallen apart). And I think there's reasoning here on the roster decisions, I just heavily disagree with it is all. I'm not sure why some folks are taking that personally and I'm really not trying to suggest at all that I'm 'right,' only that I keep getting called on it and often aggressively so I'm defending my position, that's all.
I presume they call it that because he's been dogging it![]()

By that standard, you are quietly an excellent poster.DB is quietly having a good year.

Who's gonna be the physical forward on our roster.Dude! Some of your takes are so bizarre you have to be saying them just to get us riled up to engage with you.You have succeeded with me. DB is DONE. He has fumes in the tank and belongs on the 4th line to finish out the year. He'll lay a big hit once in a while, which I'm sure hurts him more than the other guy, and he'll deflect goal in from time to time. I love DB. His # should be in the rafters. But he is not part of this teams future and him playing is only preventing it from getting better sooner.
Brown is off the hook with his cross seam passes tho. It’s official. Just found out where @apocalypse is getting advice from.

I mean damn, I love Dustin Brown for everything he’s done for this franchise, and I remember when he was drafted that they said he would be captain one day, but he is absolutely finished.
Whenever we go hard on him on here he makes us eat crowI'm feeling a Brown 2 goal game tonight, the jinxes are strong

It's quite the juxtaposition to witness from the outside. I hear everything you're saying and even agree with most of it(micro vs macro) and the coaching/management trends we're watching in front of our eyes. Expectations for the end of season have certainly been raised based on the dramatic turn around, not just the results but the style of game they've been playing. Lot's of positives to take from it, as you should, it's natural. But the deeper goals of transitioning the young *upper talent* guys in the system seem to be extremely short sighted and lacking while at the same time so obvious to us to the longer term success for some reason. But by god you hope to hell that the guys that are sitting back pointing at the results and at the ones paid much more than us in management are doing the right thing going forward but only time will tell. If we lose the next 6 here or at any point the tide quickly reverses. I think we're unified in what we all want the results to be so that doesn't change, all happy to eat crow but if not, some of you guys(us?) should be getting paid more.I'm right here. You can talk to me like a grownup.
