his momma called him Staples, I’m going to call him Staples

Why not go all the way and go with cryptonight arena? It matches up perfectly with the PP.

Terrible name, locals will still call it Staples, but if you have enough money you can name it whatever you want I guess...

Random but was looking at some stats from Ontario.

-Tkachev has 9 points in 5 games
-Durzi is over a point per game while being a +9
-Fagemo is scoring a goal every other game while leading the team +11
-Frk is putting up Ovechkin-like totals

Impressive.

That Grundstrom demotion is just gross.

TM just can't help kneecapping guys.

Kaliyev to Ontario for big minutes is a smarter move than rotting on the 4th line.

It's almost like me complaining about Vilardi wasn't solely about Vilardi, but about TM's thought processes overall...there is no rhyme or reason to accountability, no actual development plan on this roster.

Tkachev rolling along at nearly 2 points per game will be heading back to russia soon while our main roster powerplay struggles to break even gf/ga, literally better off declining the PP at this point.

I didn't really understand the Tkachev demotion in the first place. He created so many scoring chances with his elite playmaking ability.

When I saw the news about "Crypto.com Arena" I didn't think it was real.

What a horrible name.

Not that Staples Center is a great name.

I remember laughing at Arizona for "Jobing.com Arena"

It's because he was absolutely terrible.

Now he gets to rack up assists playing on a the most stacked team in the AHL. Congrats to him.

He was racking up assists in LA too, 2 powerplay points in 4 games is STILL good for a tie for 3rd on the team.

He was 'terrible' when the team was terrible and was confined to the 4th line starts with Vilardi.

I actually agreed with the demotion due to other situations but it's just another example of this org not knowing what the f*** they want or what to do with it when it shows up.

Just ignore Vilardi and Tkachev and look at the current roster choices. It's just more of the same, only the names have changed. scoring talent? 4th line as deep as possible (Kaliyev), likely AHL soon. Liabilities flying around on the top six? oh, Brown can stay. Depth player playing excellently? Push him out of lineup, likely back down to AHL (Grundstrom).

And don't get me started on Maatta. for the last three games--36% all situations CF% (the next defensemen are a full 10% better), despite middle of the pack starts 33% GF%, and most importantly, visibly just a f***ing tire fire confirming those stats are almost exactly what I guessed they'd be. that's in 2 wins and an OTL! Gross. Going back to Olli over and over without giving Strand so much as a chance is illustrative of TM's thoughts.

TM is making Willie D look thoughtful.

From what TM said, he did not even talk to Gabe?? Truly? He says Rob and the development staff sat down with him. That's putrid. How can Gabe have any respect for him? Gutless. Including gutless to keep Brown on line 1. He's failing and he's bringing down the PP. Sure, he can stand in front of the net, but can no longer shoot, handle the puck, pass the puck at a top 6 NHL level. Todd is gutless to not do anything about it. It's going to take Rob to talk to TM about making a change....even though he says the coach sets the lineup.

“Gabe was reassigned [to Ontario] this morning and Rob Blake and the development team sat and talked with him,” McLellan said. “I spoke to the coaching staff from the [Reign] about his situation, and it’s one that obviously none of us want to be in. He doesn’t want to be in it, we don’t want to be in it. The team is playing well right now and he needs to get playing, and that’s just how it is. I used the word competition yesterday and it’s good to have healthy competition. I think him playing a lot of minutes down there, getting some confidence, will be important for him.”
