When? After 12 games, they were 3-6-3. It took a six-game win streak to "right the ship". After that six-game win streak, they finished the season 12-22-4. Statistically, the high point of last season occurred after game 18 when we were 9-6-3, which is just a .500 team with extra steps.

Which is a plus-.500 team. Cut it how you want, the winning percentage is above .500. Not sure why we need to qualify it above what the league itself does...

At this point the only thing Brown is useful at on the powerplay is screening the goalie. I'd rather see Grundstrom get a shot there since he's shown some aptitude and might be able to do pretty much anything else on top of that (hustle ont he forecheck for example).
But Brown rarely ever tries to screen - watch him nearly every time a shot is coming in, dude actually moves out of the way and waves (and misses) his stick from the side. They got one goal earlier this year with him screening, but nothing since because he is never in front. He just waits for rebounds to fall on his stick. If they don't fall to him, he is useless on the PP.

I wouldn’t mind Chiarot in over Maatta.
I wouldn't mind a severed cock over Maaatta.

Ok, so you think he's 0.01% more useless than I do. Glad we agree.

Winning 9 games out of 18 means you’ve won 50% of your games. Cut it how you want, the winning percentage is 50%. Just saying.

The original question was when was our team above .500 past the first game of the season. Percentage of points is how the league and everyone in general -outside of you apparently- calculates winning percentage. Just saying.

Blake should package Maata, Walker and a late pick for an UFA middle pairing defender
That doesn't get you a middle pairing defender. Walker IS a middle pairing defender. Why waste him when he's coming back? If anything, I'd wait on Vilardi to see if he's going to develop and if not, trade him for a premier SAH d man. Someone physical who can clear the crease and move bodies. Think Willie Mitchell or Matt Greene. SAH d men just don't exist anymore, not like they used to. Guys like Mitchell and Roman Polak. Those guys were very useful and could be very useful in LA. I'd like to see Blake pull the trigger on a trade like that, if of course, Vilardi doesn't pan out.

Kupari showing that he is capable of playing up the middle has really put Vilardi in a precarious position, he will need to stake his claim much sooner than later.

Byfield likely spends some time in Ontario to get some games in, but he is more likely to take Kupari's spot than Lizotte's. That gives one center spot - over the next two and a half years until Anze's deal is up - just one spot for Vilardi, Kupari, Lizotte, Anderson-Dolan and Turcotte to fight over. Right now its Lizotte's job to lose - probably more due to injury than performance at the rate his clock gets cleaned.

If the goal is to convert Vilardi to a wing, which I have always agreed with, then you have to consider his value to another organization as a center because undoubtedly you could deal him for a winger who is already better than he would be in that role. A defender would be better of course, but I don't think Vilardi brings back an impact defender unless you send other assets as well.

I just have a weird feeling that he ends up in Nashville at the deadline as part of a deal for an extended Forsberg.

Maatta has negative value outside of maybe being a toss in to keep a team above the cap floor. Maatta shouldn't be put in any package unless it's a UPS parcel

If we trade him, we better make sure we're set on center. Byfield and Turcotte down the middle would be nice. Letting Dolan and Lizotte bring up the next 2 lines. I would also like to see Vilardi at center, which the org seems bent on doing. I think Blake views Vilardi or Turcotte as a trade chip which is why they're nurturing Vilardi so much and keeping him at center. I think they see the lines down the middle being Byfield, Vilardi, Dolan and Lizzotte. Whatever it is, I hope Vilardi puts it together and becomes that 200 foot center, at least 175 foot center.
