I think we should give up very little for a SAH d man. We're playing good right now so don't fix it, but in the long run, for the rest of the season, we'll need a tough SAH guy for the blueline. Where do you get such a thing? I don't know. Gone are the days of Willie Mitchell. McNabb sounds good. But is he a top 4?

Why do we need a SAH d man? Between Anderson, Bjornfot, Roy, and Edler-- we got it covered. And Matta can literally stay at home. I really don't see much of an upgrade available over those 4.

To piggy-back on that, I'd argue that we should just suit up Strand instead of Maatta and call it a day.

Bjornfot - Roy
Edler - Clague
Anderson - Strand

Someone who's been around a while. Who can clear the crease. Fight. Bring a physical presence. How are we ever going to beat the Minnesotas, and Winnipegs and the like? We're missing that SAH presence. Our guys don't bring that. We got a bunch of puck movers and little d men. Yeah I guess bring in McNabb. See what he can do. We're sorely missing a physical presence on this team and it's going to come back to haunt us. Ideally, we could use a physical presence on our 3rd line. If you think Lemieux is going to cut it, I don't think so. Fill those voids and we'll be competitive against the likes of Minny, Vegas, Winnipeg and Anaheim.

Cleaned up the house today to find some goodies. Including a note I got from Terry Murray after flaming him for being the "reason" Frolov decided to leave Los Angeles.

Turns out I have a newspaper article for every Kings game of the 2012, 2013, and 2014 playoff runs.

His executive assistant should've proofread that "letter" more carefully before putting it in the envelope.

(Seriously, though: it is pretty cool that he/she/they responded, formally, to a fan - a hostile communique, no less).

Yeah; Terry Murray was nice enough to sign a photo as well with the letter.

When I was younger I'd send all kinds of letters to players and quite a few of them would reply back including Zach Parise, Mike Richards, Danny Briere, Peter Stastny, Semyon Varlamov amongst others.

I mean, the Senators are nothing to sneeze at in the sense that they are like the Kings in that they have been drafting high for some time now. It would almost be a blessing in disguise if something similar happened to the Kings. While it would suck and derail the season, it would present a crazy opportunity to the vast supply of youth LA has not on the team. There would be some surprises and players taking advantage. A player like Akil Thomas or similar would get their time to shine and might run with it.

Murray in covid protocol probably means Gustavson will get the start, which is less ideal . He has stolen points several times this year for the Sens.
