That doesn't get you a middle pairing defender. Walker IS a middle pairing defender. Why waste him when he's coming back? If anything, I'd wait on Vilardi to see if he's going to develop and if not, trade him for a premier SAH d man. Someone physical who can clear the crease and move bodies. Think Willie Mitchell or Matt Greene. SAH d men just don't exist anymore, not like they used to. Guys like Mitchell and Roman Polak. Those guys were very useful and could be very useful in LA. I'd like to see Blake pull the trigger on a trade like that, if of course, Vilardi doesn't pan out.

This team deserves a chance now, I’m not saying that Bluc should go all in, but they should try a quick fix. Walker’s spot could be filled next year with one of our younger RHD or even Clague if he continues to grow.

But, he's already, in, Walker's spot.

A middle pairing UFA defender sounds great. Who? Who can your trade idea get?

If the Kings keep playing the way they have been it's going to be really hard for guys like Vilardi, JAD and others to get back in the lineup.

Was thinking the same. If we keep playing well and healthy with the current roster, I am not sure how we fit Andersson, QB, Vilardi, JAD, Turcotte, Thomas etc... for any ice time\games later in the year.

There possibly needs to be a 2/3 for 1 type of trade for an impact player or a revolving door AHL<->NHL among the prospects?

Seriously. No one's being inserted into the lineup on a six game win streak. And, if anyone is, it's Arvidsson in over Kaliyev. Where does Kempe go? Where does that leave Athanasiou? What happens when Andersson is back? I don't see any way Vilardi pops in over Lizotte, like it or not Blake's been the perfect fourth line forward. He deserves every minute he's been playing. Same with Lemieux, if anything we should slot Moore on that fourth line and give them more minutes. Our worst forward most nights has been Brown, but he's obviously not sitting. His huge hit in last night's overtime was mere moments after he gave up possession on a terrible play. If nothing else, I think fewer minutes might help him be effective more often.

Here's what I'd like to see:

Kempe - Kopitar - Arvidsson
Iafallo - Danault - Athanasiou
Andersson - Kupari - Brown
Lemieux - Lizotte - Moore

Bjornfot - Roy
Edler - Clague
Anderson - Strand

If they play well deep into the season, who gives a damn if they have room for the young guys.

Hmmm. I'll look , but I don't remember where I saw it

On Lisa Dillman's mailbag on The Athletic, she said Christmas time. But that's pretty damn close to January and is also consistent with the 8 week time line. So everyone's correct!

I think we should give up very little for a SAH d man. We're playing good right now so don't fix it, but in the long run, for the rest of the season, we'll need a tough SAH guy for the blueline. Where do you get such a thing? I don't know. Gone are the days of Willie Mitchell. McNabb sounds good. But is he a top 4?

Why do we need a SAH d man? Between Anderson, Bjornfot, Roy, and Edler-- we got it covered. And Matta can literally stay at home. I really don't see much of an upgrade available over those 4.
