Speculation: 2021-21 LA Kings News, Rumors, Roster discussion part V

Vilardi is a career 15% shooter in the NHL. We’ve all seen him pot goals with our eyes. Asking what he’s done to be put in a better position to grow is missing the point of developing your young prospects.

Vilardi has great final third game, great shot, great playmaking and great skills. Weakness on skating and stamina that limits his game up and down the ice...that's an easy description for a winger. I hope they give it a try. Byfield is going to be a center. Even if you move Turcotte to wing, Kopitar-Byfield-Danault is good for a number of years and when ready you swap Byfield and Kopitar. Obviously if Turcotte is a C, you have even less problems.

Well, I'm entertained. Will we see a Blake / Dubas rage trade in the next week? Over, under on the game at 10? We aren't even the worst team in the league!

The only thing Vilardi has earned is a trip to Ontario where he belongs.

He's in over his head most of the time. Constantly trailing the play and turning the puck over. Promoting him isn't going to help when he can't even handle the ice time he's getting now.

He has shown himself to be an excellent shooter though. Problem is, he's so ineffective everywhere else, that's he's rarely in a position to use his shot.

Try him out on wing or send him down.

I like these lines for multiple reasons.

Kaliyev is promoted to a line that should give him lots of scoring chances to capitalize on.

Kempe is relegated for not delivering results. Next step towards moving him for a position of need.

Vilardi is (hopefully) on the next step to where TM and Blake give up on him as a C and move him to wing. It’s a tedious, unavoidable process we as fans will just have to endure.

Kupari is given more of a role to work with. The next step to establishing himself as either a contributing piece or trade bait next to Kempe.

We are 5 games in with a lot of new faces and line options and some of this shit WILL eventually stick to a wall. Byfield and Andersson will make the roster even more dynamic.

That's the thing some seem to be forgetting, we have a line up with a bunch of players who didn't play last year or didn't play the full season in LA (Byfield, Tkachev, Kupari, Andersson, etc. and not only have they had no time to gel, the time they would have used to get up to speed in the pre-season was thrown into a mess when we had some late camp injuries. As much as I say Vilardi on the fourth line is something I'm fine with, I have to wonder if he would be if he had Anersson on his wing for example. They complimented each other well.

I am starting to follow along that Vilardi shouldnt be a center. The way he got chased down on that breakout, he missed his man on one of the goals against, etc. He has talent, just may be better suited at wing.

True, but they are missing that fire like one has when they first suspect that they have gonorrhea.

We need a Tommy Lasorda type in the locker room

His dad was gonorrhea on skates so you're likely not far off there.
 
Anyone who can fog a mirror and even glance angrily at Jani f***ing Hakanpaa after he takes out a generational defenseman would be an upgrade.

God even the guys that have been injuring these p***yes are p***yes. No answer for Fiala last year either. Disgusting. I was gonna say maybe Perron will run Quick so we will get to see someone stick up for themselves but at this point I'm curious if anyone will do anything if Buchnevich takes out Kaliyev.

i forget if it was kempe or Iafallo who went after him after. Was just a wrestling match but there was not much time for it to be more before there were a few guys in there.

Star got ejected so hard to blame the kings for not taking him to task after.

If they really want size they should trade for Greenway and bring over Helenius at some point. Two big bodies with a grinder like Moore would be a nice 4th line. Finding a tough dman that can actually play will be much harder.

Iafallo, but it doesnt matter as Jamie Benn would wipe the ice with anyone on our team had it gotten outta control. Brown might give him a good hugging but thats about it.

Sure you want gabe to learn from him, but RV - Kopi - Brown has been one of the most dominate lines in hockey this season according to the advanced metrics.
