Staz said that he would resign with us before he was 1st signed by the Blues. Staz said in an interview that Colorado was the place during the Jets interview. Staz promised to come back to Avs but he never did.

Stastny didn't promise a thing lol dude went and secured the bag every chance he could as a UFA. Props to him for doing so. He'll probably never win a Stanley Cup but he got as much money as possible during his NHL career.

Yeah I totally agree with you. Staz used Avs a couple of times to raise up his salary value. He had no promises for sure to resign with Avs.

Sure, but I'm just pointing out that we should know better than to take players at their word. Promises made by players to stay with their teams are flexible at best. Most of the time what they really mean is "I'll stay as long as you pay me what I think I'm worth".

Well it's also fair to parse words. It seems like a lot of the quotes I've read from Bergeron are about "I can't imagine playing for another team" which is not the same as "I will never play for another team". It was more like the former in a more recent tweet summarizing his post game comments.
