Bergeron said he won't decide until the offseason and refused to talk extension with the Bruins during the season because of that very reason.

I think he comes back for one more year but that's it.

Just imagine if the Bruins management team hadn't galaxy brained the 2015 draft. They'd be set up for so long. They'd have Barzal right behind Bergeron, Connor right behind Marchand and Chabot taking over for Chara. Instead they've got a disgruntled DeBrusk who wants out, a bum in Senyshen who isn't good enough for the NHL and an injury prone Zboril who can't seem to crack a depleted defensive corps.

I would hope ownership stepped in and fired every single one of those scouts lol.

What a draft that was and what a dropped ball by Boston. Those three taken right after the Bruins picks, and Boesser, Aho, Ericsson Ek, Ilya Samsonov, Konecny, Beeauvilier, and Cernak still on board too.

They'd have been better off taking Carlo with one of those other two picks, and then taking someone else in the 2nd.

So often we see "what if" scenarios when it comes to draft picks and it's guys taken a couple of picks later, or a round later, etc.

This is one of the most amazing misses in NHL draft history IMO. The three guys taken directly after their picks all turned into All-Star caliber players while none of their three picks have done anything remotely significant.

He had such a great season for an old man possibly retiring

I think Bergeron retires. Turns 37 this summer. He's played so much hockey, playoffs in 13 of 18 seasons, and Bruins going deep on alot of them, plus all the times he represented Canada in between.

The saving grace for the Bruins scouts is that draft was sandwiched right between McAvoy and Pastrnak.
