Perfect result. I wanted it to be the Habs or Kraken and the only thing that would've made it better is if the Kraken picked 2nd. Not to get all obnoxious (I'm about to be obnoxious) but a player like Wright should be in Montreal and not one of these other markets that shall not be mentioned.

Hawks and Knights losing their picks is just a bonus. **** em.

I realize it’s a small sample size stretching back to last postseason, but MacKenzie Weegar had another brutal night in the playoffs.

If you look at how much analytics has formed the reputations for two RD's on the two best teams in the regular season in EJ and Weegar, and then look at their playoff performances so far, I think that's another cautionary tale not to define players based on analytics alone.

Probably means he's not a good playoff performer more than anything. EJ's been very good in the PO's so far but had a very up and down season. Analytics aren't perfect but they certainly help paint a picture.

I think EJ's down part of the season was exaggerated, because there was an urge to fall back to the old narrative. He was good for pretty much the entire first half, then had a down month or so that coincided with when he was probably playing hurt. Then from when he came back during the regular season until now, he's played well.

Eh EJ was pretty bad for stretches of the season. But he was also quite good for stretches, but that is going to come with the age and mileage on his body.

I didn't see a roller coaster of different stretches of play. To me it was very clear it was one long stretch of good play, then one small stretch of poor play before he took time off to heal up, then another small stretch of good play up until now.

In fact, I think this is always how EJ has been. I think he's played hurt a lot in his career unfortunately. I think it could be as simple as he plays well when he's healthy, and he struggles when he's not. Kinda like Varly.

There’s a chance the second round in the East consists of all “old guard” teams. Tampa, Pittsburgh, Washington, and Boston. That’d be kind of wild.

Think both Pittsburgh and Carolina are heavy favorites to win their series at this point, I don't expect Boston to make it out. Washington and Tampa those series are still a coin flip to me, but I'd give a slight, slight edge to both of them over Florida and Toronto.

Either way, all these would normally be 2nd round type of matchups - playoff experience is such a huge factor people don't usually add into the equation.

I don't know, Wilson is a huge part of the Capitals and he's pretty much out with a LBI. They've also been fairly mediocre in the first round since Trotz left the team.

The Lightning have played a ton of hockey over the past three seasons, have gotten older, plus losing guys like Goodrow/Gourde/Coleman has really shown on the defensive side of things. I think their streak of never losing games back to back in the playoffs ends in Game 6.
