Isn’t it pretty telling how lifeless the Kings have looked since Kopitar became captain. And by all accounts as fans, he shows no leadership qualities

That's on Lombardi and Sutter. The greatest leaders in franchise history.

The fact is, they were this close, many times, against the Sharks, Ducks, Hawks, and yes, the Rangers, from not winning that 2nd Cup. This franchise still has yet to recover from that fateful night with Voynov. Even without Voynov committing a crime, they still may have had to scratch and claw in 14-15. The 2014 playoffs were on a knife's edge the entire time.

They went nuts after the 1st Cup. The moment they won, they handed Quick a 10 year deal, which is still going, and they got 1 year out of it, the first year. Then Brown, then Gaborik, etc, etc, etc.

By any rational thought, they should've been a one hit wonder. A lot of what's ruined the franchise may not have happened had they just not won that 2nd Cup.

Don't worry everyone, going into next season all the Kings need to do is:

Bring-up or acquire defensemen who can do something/anything offensively
Completely overhaul the PP
Acquire a legitimate goal scoring wing
Either fire McLellan or hope he becomes less stubborn with his lineup decisions
Address a massively growing problem in net

So to sum things up, the Kings need improvement on offense, defense, special teams, goaltending, and coaching, no big deal

My point the other day sums up what you just said. I said going forward we have more questions than answers on this roster. With Iafallo and Kopitar going MIA we need to address those 2 as well.
