Lot's were already said about Turcotte, but for me the one thing that stood out was how small he looked on the ice. I noticed that too with the badgers but it was more noticeable in this tournament. His board play and fearlessness to go to the dirty areas was evident. He is going to need to bulk up to play that type of game in the NHL.

I really like the play of Fagemo. Not just the 31 shots and leading the WJC in goals, but the fact that he seems engaged along the boards and made some nice decisions with the puck. Reminds me of Pasternak on the PP.

Kaliyev's flaws are fixable. He back checked well, kept up with the play and the kid can finish. He outplayed Caulfield who looked over match the first 3 games.

Nousiainen is underrated. Strong on his skates, plays well against the bigger players. He got over 19 minutes of ice time last game and just kept playing stronger. Going to see how he matches up against the canadians next.

Bjornfot as expected. Nothing fancy, solid. Good first pass.

Dudas\Thomas were role players. I would put them and JAD as the heart and soul bottom 6 players if they make it.

Thomas has been basically relegated to a 4th line, pk specialist.

For Thomas that is his role yes. Has the ability to move up the lineup but only temporarily. I wish he can produce offense at the Pro levels but we'll see. We got enough character guys, hoping for next draft to pick prospects with the highest ceiling and potential.

Thomas has been filling in as a utility player very well. Dudas has been a key penalty killer.

Should have picked Zegras at 5. There I said it

Please send all PM/hate mail to Lt Dan. hahaha

 Too funny. But hopefully Turcotte will prove a lot of people wrong. Still a long ways to go. But Zegras do look very good. We shall see.

Fagemo with a goal and assist so far. Good game refs have been brutal as usual.
Fagemo continues to do his thing, and so do the refs that tripping call on Broberg was horrible, really nice hip check gets a penalty call.

NBA refs are by far the worst in all of sports but these IIHF refs are very close behind. These little love tap penalties are pathetic.

Sweden fails again. Great game Russia was the better team throughout the contest.

As if the refs couldn’t get any worse this tournament. As Ranta shoots the puck from the wing slightly after the whistle, Addison clearly high sticks him in the face. Ranta is bleeding from his chin. The refs give Ranta a 10-minute misconduct and Addison gets nothing.

That is insane.

Horrible to miss the high stick but that shot was well after the whistle. Deserving of a two minute unsportsmanlike in the NHL but maybe that's an auto 10 minute in IIHF?

Maybe slightly was an understatement, but it’s malpractice not to call the high stick. Plus, apparently there was a really late shot like that earlier in the tournament where there was no call. So it seems like it’s not an automatic. At least in the NHL the refs will usually give a warning before calling something like that on a late shot.

Never seen Fagemo play before until this tournament. I was very pleased with his overall game.

Kings look like they have themselves a good one.

He's even on the first PK unit. He buzzes all around the offensive zone and gets into scoring areas...he then can one time it or handle it a second or two and has a wicked and accurate wrister.
His last 2 goals, he had time and took a few seconds and wristed them top shelf corners...he had no worries about the goalies being set up and ready. He's a sniper. Of course, euros need
to get accustomed to not having a few extra seconds to do things and play on the smaller ice surface here, but think he will adapt quickly. He has great hands around the net, too.

The Kings need several things, but topping the list, are wingers that can score. (as well as center to replace Carter, etc..but that's going to be Vilardi and / or Turcotte 2C / 3c )
Fagemo and Kaliyev may well be the next generation of King wingers that score 20+ for years. ..possibly 30+ for Arty.

Fagemo had a pretty good game despite missing Höglander who really is the driving force on that line. I'm very happy with his tournament overall. Björnfot had an awful game, I hate to say. Sloppy puck handling, poor coverage and gave the puck away or iced it unprovoked multiple times. One positive was that he was skating the puck and leading the rush with purpose a couple of times, something I was wanting him to do in earlier games. Overall not a bad tournament for him this particular game aside, he'll be back and better next year.

Assist to Fagrmo and Noudiainen early in SWE-FIN game.

Hilarious that Björnfot gets roasted a lot in game day threads while being average but Bröberg gets little criticism despite being very poor.
