Wouldn’t surprise me, they tried to use him as a pure shutdown guy last year, which was dumb, but Team USA has a history of being dumb. But on the other side, that really opens it up for Jones to make it
Eh, I see Miller’s offensive strengths mostly coming on the rush or from him pinching. Jones and York are just flat out better on the PP, and the two forwards are great triggermen.
Miller’s opportunity to stick in the NHL will come down to his abilities to shut down the opponent and get the puck out of the NYR zone up the ice. I’m happy with him getting more time to practice that.
And, almost definitely, one of the proposed PP pairs they’re trying now won’t work out. I’d expect Miller will find his way there eventually.
