I asked what's up with him, not what's wrong with him. As in, "What's going on with him?" Nothing negative implied.

Oh, I see.

Playing mostly 3rd line minutes. His team is not having a great season. They're currently in the bottom half but close enough to reach the prelim rounds. There are still a lot of games to be played though.

Like I said: I hope they send him to Mestis for a few weeks so he can play more meaningful minutes

Good to see Henriksson making it despite the slightly disappointing results this season. I wouldn't be surprised to see him center Raymond and Holtz (if he is healthy) considering the emphasis on chemistry/synergy Swedish coaches usually have in international tournaments.

Great news on Henriksson. He wasn't a lock, but could end up having a big role.

Monthén has tried everything possible to keep out KH from centering Raymond and Holtz, but those two has played their by far best hockey when centered by KH.

I've followed Henriksson some in Södertälje. It is frustrating, or like it is what it is. I think we all assume that there is a connection between production and ability, and of course there is to a large extent in most cases. But like when a vet is traded, its not at all unusual that it can take a long while to get going. And many players have real bad scoring droughts during their careers. Henriksson plays well, but its just not paying off. Not in terms of distinguishing himself and through that getting a bigger role or by getting pts on the board.

This has always been a bit of problem with Henriksson given that he is under contract with Frölunda. They have 14 skaters at forward who more or less could be top 6-9 forwards for any SHL team. After that comes guys like Henriksson.

Södertälje is a team that mostly is built of individuals acquired from other teams as "free agents" the last year or two, and they have little balance or chemistry on the roster, but quite many fairly talented players. In that puzzle, they have very little incentive to "prioritize" Henriksson who isn't even under contract with them.

But OTOH he is getting to play pro hockey for Södertälje and is doing a good job, but unless he gets a bigger role the production won't come.

Is Lindbom eligible? Will he even be considered in net?

Does Edstrom have an outside shot if their are injuries?

He is eligble and Sweden are REALLY weak between the pipes depth wise. I think he would have been a lock. But he missed most of last season with a concussion and have been injured most of this season, with what is said to be a foot injury but who knows. Like the tournament starts in 3 weeks and Lindbom hasn't been on the ice since October. I have not heard a thing about when he might return.

They have watched Edström this year and he has certainly been on the short list, but I never really think that he got legit consideration. Probably had a number of guys ahead of him. Don't think he is eligble next year, so we will probably not see him in the WJC.

I've followed Edström some in the SHL. The kid -- lol -- reminds me a bit of Kaapo Kakko in how he plays the game, create offense and so forth. Nifty skates and good hands when he get going, quick and skilled. But like he is of course built like Gettinger and co. A tower on the ice.

He is a project for sure, and needs to come a long way. But he is also the type who could take -- big -- steps potentially towards next season. All kinds of growth potential. But the question is of course how much his agility/acceleration and overall skating can improve. There are only 2-3 forwards playing regulary in the NHL right now at 6'6 or taller. Greenway, Boyle and Bjugstad. Logan Brown have gotten a few games for Ottawa and of course Gettinger and a couple of more guys have dressed for the odd game. There is a reason for that. Its so hard, almost impossible, for them to really keep up with the pace in the NHL.

Lindbom isn't on the team. It would take an injury to one of the 3 goalies for him to make it.

Edström for all his effort has not really done anything flashy. He's a surprisingly good young player this season for Rögle, playing all 23 games so far this season for them, not something I expected. But Sweden has better options on the wing and the center spots are already taken

My thinking was that given his size and playing the amount of games he has at the SHL level might have given him an edge for consideration. But understandable.

Junior tournaments don't really require the same skillset as professional hockey though.

Zac Jones and K'Andre Miller are part of the initial roster for WJC. Cuts will be made, but both have had good showings this season and Miller is most likely a lock and Jones will be battling from the outside to get in.

Miller will probably wear a letter for that team. He’s a lock.

good to see jones there as expected. Not a lock to make it but this is good for him.

question so Kravtsov a dec 99 baby and Pajuniemi a sept 99 baby both are too old for this tourney? Dumb rule Under 20 should be 20 and under.

Pajuniemi man has anyone in Finland at his age played that well this year? No way

I wasn't aware that Mr. Spyder 2 Y Banana was a hockey player.

Ehm, u20 is under20. Literally.

No, the ban for Russia will apparently not affect the WJC. Igor is also going to double check about the regular WC.

even if it does, WADA said Russians can play, they will just have to undergo some strict testing. I don't know if that is like before, during, after the tourney or all of the above.

Also I thought most Russian athletes could compete in things, just not as "Russia" and under the Russian Federation flag. Like they'd be able to do the "Olympic Athletes of Russia" (O.A.R.) thing they did in the last Olympics. I could be wrong, though.

Either way it doesn't matter for small things like this.

Yeah, I fully expect them to compete under the OAR flag next year but the WJC shouldn't be affected by WADA's ban

Wouldve been awesome to see Paju in the tournament with the year he is having. But then again he is probably better off focusing on his play with TPS which has been fantastic
