Really strange forward lines, Jones and Emberson could be really good together

Turcotte and Zegras at 3/4 LW is surprising to me, but I haven't really followed the US team leading up to the tournament. Looking at NCAA numbers and draft status I'm still left scratching my head as to why they aren't 1/2 C over Pinto and Drury. Pinto especially considering his lackluster numbers at every level.

I really don’t get it either, but I feel like Team USA makes some really strange decisions every year and I guess this is this year’s version of that

It's one thing when they defer to USNTDP guys, but Zegras/Turcotte are and Pinto isn't - leaving me even more puzzled.
I know there’s always a lot of talk about the Rangers trying to outsmart everyone at the draft, which I don’t want to get into, but I think Team USA has this little brother complex to Team Canada and is working off the idea that they’ll never be as skilled so they try to out-anything else (usually grit and character) their way to victory. Part of me wants to say they’re trying to spread out the offense, but then putting them on the wing is weird, and not having Turcotte and Caufield together is really weird too. I think if they have actual designs on winning, the lines as they are won’t last for too long.

The centers are listed first, then LW and RW. Some list it that way for some odd reason.

Really excited for some overreactions on any prospects based on a small sample size tournament like this one.

And yes, I am ready to be guilty of this myself.

It's the best time of the year.

The HF rule for the WJC: play well in your first game and you’ve had a good tournament.

It is what has propelled WJC heroes like Charlie Coyle to greatness.

I never bothered renewing my cable package in August. This is the first time that it has been even a minor inconvenience, but a month-long subscription to TSN Direct solves that.

NHL Playoffs > WJCs > Olympics w/ NHL players > NHL regular season > Olympics w/o NHL players

I frigging love this tournament!
