Toffoli would give the Bruins 9 RW

Anyways Mckenzie Weegar would be interesting except he’s a RHD

Source: Bruins Interested In Panthers D MacKenzie Weegar

Jimmy Murphy good article but it went South when he has Chara as a RHD

Also went south when he questioned why Bruins interested in Weegar cause he's a right handed shot even though he plays on the left side next to Ekblad.

Well they are trying to get AP and he’s RHD

Florida is trying to sign Pietrangelo?

My plan would have started a week ago at the draft. Move Krug for picks, move Krejci for picks, move Rask for picks.

Bergeron, Coyle and Studnicka would be my 3 centers. Sign a UFA goalie, sign one of the top UFA wingers, try to deal for one of the many defensemen available.

Get something back for your aging core, get younger, get pieces to re-stock the cupboard.

Absolutely. I wish that management would realize that no Stanely Cup is coming Boston's way with the current core. The smart move would have been to trade Krejci and Rask for the most and best assets that could be had and to let Chara walk. Build for the future. Instead, it appears that Krejci and Rask will remain with the Bruins and that Chara will be signed. It's delusional for anyone to think that Boston has a serious shot at a Stanley Cup by more or less standing pat, with core players who are already past peak and will be one year older next season, not to mention other teams in the league improving their rosters.

According to a player agent, the Bruins were " in on everything ". This was also confirmed by verified inside info accounts like https://twitter.com/NHLRumorsDaily that the Bruins were in conversations with teams all around the league. The ones that I know of from people that I personally trust : Colorado, Arizona, Calgary, Winnipeg, Buffalo, Vancouver, Detroit, Florida, Oilers, Vegas, Minnesota. Some more serious than others.

Asleep at the wheel? No. More like finding it harder than they thought to seal the deal, which seems to happen a lot with Sweeney/Neely. They offered Hall a three year deal, but for whatever reason, he picked Buffalo. They've made one good move so far with Smith and I guess you would call it a good-will gesture to Kevan Miller for a year to give him a chance at resuming his career. I think there's more to come in the pipeline, but we'll see.

Roster building is always a fluid situation. They'll get chances to upgrade as the season goes on.
Interesting. Who were they interested in? Thanks

They couldn’t move Krug for picks

no one wanted him

fact not opinion

1. Torey said he had no offer since before season

2. media says the Bruins offered 6.5/6

3. agent never said it was BS and Bruins as we’ve seen with Marchand, Carlo, McAvoy, Coyle etc leak 0.0

4. St Louis only came in after negotiations broke down with AP on the weekend

conclusion- you can’t get picks for Krug when no one was signing a guy the media put out there $6.5 for 6 years

This was 100% agent leak
Shouldn’t we then have tried to trade negotiating rights for TK well before July 1? Wouldn’t we at least have gotten SOMEthing out of it?

There has to be a reason this doesn't happen more often. Why wouldn't AZ have traded negotiating rights for Hall or VGK for Petro? I don't think it's as easy as we all seem to think it is.

Can always do that at the deadline if need be

You can sign goalies and wingers at the deadline?

If they sell off vets at the deadline they'll be pulling the plug on the season and the playoffs. If they sold vets now they could have used this time to re-tool without giving up futures, and still ice a very good team.

Fwiw, I still fully expect Sweeney to do something. He set out to improve this team. He misjudged the Hall situation. I think he thought the pull of Boston and a contender was going to be enough to lowball Hall and get him on a team friendly deal. He underestimated Hall's greed and it backfired, but I can't believe he's going to do nothing. They have lots of cheap young players to trade, they have cap space. Those are commodities right now.

How do you know they didn’t try and there were no takers, how many players had their rights traded before the deadline? None, because that is the market in these times.

Don’t know if they did or not. It was an honest question, though I see how it could have been interpreted as accusatory.

If we wanted to get a longer term solution in net... this was the year. Either Tuukka's re-signing or walking at the end of the year, for better or worse.

Florida is

Bruins LHD

Grzelcyk
Lauzon
Moore
Zboril
Vaakanainen

top Left D prospects

Jack Ahcan
Nick Wolff

It would be beneficial to add a solid partner for McAvoy. None of the players listed are likely to be ready for that spot. Trade some assets and get a good one.

I'm hoping to see Zboril or Vaakanainen make the team but I don't think that's a certainty.
