"Competitive SOB that makes life miserable for the opposition."

Ok. I really don't know anything about this kid, but that sounds good for starters.

The Rangers need some physical size on their back end.

It'll be interesting to see where this goes.

The Rangers: wanna be hard to play against

Also the Rangers: 0-5 forecheck

The Rangers said they wanted to be harder to play against and they picked 2 guys who are hard to play against including best player in draft by a country mile. Whats not to like? The Devils were definitely picking Schneider and we screwed them so it's all good.

He is literally the least similar to DeAngelo out of any of our RD. Nah

I'm not saying he's similar at all to DeAngelo. What I'm saying is he's a big and nasty guy and the Rangers moved up for him which means they really f***ing wanted him. Not only that he's very mature and his style of game doesn't need a lot of tweaking. He strong enough for the NHL right now and he's a player who plays a simple game. Think a much larger maybe even meaner version of Ryan Lindgren. His game ain't complicated like Lindgren's isn't complicated. Schneider also has a bullet of a shot. They brought up Beukeboom--there you go. This is to get bigger and meaner on the blueline.

Trouba would need to move before that NTC kicks in (or has it already?). Otherwise we’ll be losing leverage with any partner and might have to retain salary. It’s a nasty contract unless he starts living up to his expectations — in which case there’s no reason to trade him in the first place.

I don't know the details, but it does give you that flexibility.

People always complain that the Rangers don't take BPA. Well, they just did. As Edge said, they had him 12th and they took him 19th. Now people are complaining that we didn't draft for need lol.
It’s not just need. It’s a huge need and the most important position in the sport. And the fact that there were a couple other players who you could argue were BPA
