The CBJ Russian is an overager who has 7 points in 12 games in the KHL so far, they must have loved the game tape. Maybe he wouldn't have went anywhere near this high if the draft was scheduled at the normal time. I know Russian juniors are supposed to be a...weird level to scout, like it's not as easy to point out who the best players in those leagues are.

The league seems to value defensemen like Guhle and Schneider a lot more than the online scouting community does. Hoping in a year or two Schneider will be appreciated by Rangers fans and not be seen as a guy that we shouldn't have picked.

I don't mind the pick; though he may have been there at 22 (the Rangers obviously didn't think so). I didn't want a defenceman with the 2nd 1st rd pick, but the forwards I wanted were all gone by the time the Rangers picked. The kid was ranked higher, so it does make some sense. Provides asset flexibility.

This likely means D'Angelo is gone; they should get a decent package back.
No way. The devils or Columbus we’re taking for sure

"Competitive SOB that makes life miserable for the opposition."

Ok. I really don't know anything about this kid, but that sounds good for starters.

The Rangers need some physical size on their back end.

It'll be interesting to see where this goes.

hes also the type of kid that’ll bury you in the corner and laugh at you all the way up the ice. Total alpha type

This is Brad Treliving's Stanley Cup. #19 for #22 and a 3rd, #22 for #24 and a 3rd, two more rounds and he'll have won the draft.

The Rangers apparently. The design the system to be easy to beat.
Yeah let’s get tougher to play against by drafting a guy that hits people but isn’t likely to get major minutes for years. Schneider does not make the Rangers harder to play against anytime soon, and there is zero offense there.
