Berard sounds like a Zuccarello style player. Also, very late birthday for this draft.

Berard was a top scorer on the U.S. NTDP. He’s a very smart player offensively who can make high-end plays and create off the perimeter. I was very impressed by his skill level initially, although I felt the offensive consistency wasn’t there in the second half. Berard is competitive, shows no fear in engaging and can irritate the opposition. As a 5-foot-9 player with good but not great speed or skill, it’s fair to ask if he has enough in his toolkit to project into the NHL. His advocates would point out he’s a week away from being 2021 eligible and still had a good season.

There's three more on my list. I would go for guys that have shown progression over time... and looks like the Rangers are doing the same. Both Tarnstrom & Vierling at first glance show progression. The goalie shows off the charts progression.
I think A Johannesson is Girard or Bust... Emil was better with him imo and that lead to some very entertaining hockey. Which make for good regular season defensemen. That pair was impressive. If you can dress 8... or if the league ever shifts to dressing 20 in a game then we see the game evolve and more players make more money.

The attention on North American players is very interesting and certainly a philosophical change. Not Coincidental that this happens with JD in charge. I’ll be interested in hearing the organization’s perspective
