GDT: 2020 NHL Entry Draft - Day 2

Ovchinnikov to Toronto. That's the biggest boom/bust in the draft, IMO.

Diet Kuznetsov or a big bowl of nothing.

How did we crap the bed? We had a solid draft

I've had my criticisms but I think this is actually one of our better drafts in the grand scheme of things.

It helped that we had a lot of bullets to shoot. Gorton is real good at getting teams to toss in late picks and it's an approach I really like.

Miettinen and Pashin both still being there is an absolute shock, also.

Berard's dad was a long time assistant coach at Providence where Brett is going...currently the head coach at Holy Cross

I admittedly do not have the time or interest to watch more than a handful of junior games during the season (outside of the WJC) and therefore know nothing about 99% of these guys being taken after round 1.

The only non-drafted 2020 player that I've seen anything from is Lleyton Moore (LD - Oshawa Generals). A year and a half ago some people had him as a top 20 prospect eligible for this draft and he's still left. He plays top pairing minutes on a solid OHL team. Yes he's undersized but he's fast, moves the puck well and can put up points on the powerplay. Would be an interesting gamble to pair with a guy like Schneider in the future...
