I've been seeing mock drafts of people putting Drysdale at 3 for the Sens. Am I not the only that thinks that would be the dumbest thing to do at pick 3 in the best forward draft in a while? Drysdale is a good prospect but he's not a top 3 pick, maybe at pick 5.

I really want the Sens to draft this guy.. He reminds me of Pageau only better

The Sens could draft an all Russian line of Dmitri Rashevsky Marat Khusnutdinov Egor Sokolov. Could also add Maxim Groshev and Maxim Beryozkhin to that list.

They signed Zub with very little fan fare, but I would love to see them draft Askarov. I imagine that would create a few headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Drafting is different than signing a FA though.. so we shall see if things have changed in that regard. We also traded for 3 Russians last year. Maybe the embargo is done.
There are a couple Russians I would not mind having ..3 if we include Askarov. I like Amirov (Isles pick range maybe) , and Khusnutdinov (33) . I like Askarov too but we would need another 1st depending on where the Isles pick is and who's left. I also like Groshev late 2nd early 3rd.

There’s a decent chance he’s available at 5, so yes.

Not sure where you are looking but most mock drafts have the Sens picking Byfield or Stutzle at 3. Also picking Drysdale at 3 , although a little questionable, is not the "dumbest" thing to do when you will pick a forward at 5.

As someone who actual has Drysdale at 3 on my board, I actually agree. Wouldn't say its the dumbest thing to do, as #1 upside RHD dont grow on trees, especially ones with Drysdale skating ability. But theres a much better chance hes available at 5 as opposed to Stuzle/Byfield, so to me its the smarter play.

Btw, I dont have Stutzle and Drysdale separated by much. The risk/reward of getting both leads me to pick the forward at 3 and hope Drysdale falls to 5.
