Wonder if Habs can make a decent push for Hall now with Anderson and Alzner buyout. Then you can move Tatar or Drouin? Would make our top 9 look pretty good.

We really could use a left handed winger who can shoot on our PP. If Detroit doesn't think he fits in with their rebuild, I think a guy like Mantha would be great as he also adds some size.

Drouin - Suzuki - Anderson
Tatar - Kotkaniemi - Mantha
Lehkonen - Danault - Gallagher
Byron - Evans - Armia

I think the team's pretty much set:

Tatar - Danault - Gallagher
Drouin - Suzuki - Anderson/Armia
Byron/Lehkonen - Kotkaniemi - Anderson/Armia
Byron/Lehkonen - Evans - UFA

Chiarot - Weber
Edmundston - Petry
Mete - Kulak (perhaps Romanov on RD since that's been talked about and MTL loves to call up guys asap)

Price
Allen

Bench: Weal, Vejdemo, Juulsen

Can see one more 4th line grit UFA signing, Simmonds perhaps. Keep about 5-8M in unused capsapce as if there's an internal cap like usual.

In a perfect realistic world..

Tatar Danault Gallagher
Drouin Suzuki Anderson
X Kotkaniemi Armia
Lehkonen Evans/Poehling Simmonds

Byron traded

I wouldn’t mind Saad in that open spot if he’s cheap since he’s only signed for one year and is 6M. Worst comes to worst Kovalchuk. I don’t want to sign any dumb forwards for longer then one year

This is what I got for opening night:

Tatar - Danault - Gallagher
Drouin - Suzuki - Anderson
Lekhonen - Kotkaniemi - Armia
Byron - Evans - Weal
Hudon

Chiarot - Weber
Edmundson - Petry
Mete - Romanov
Kulak

Price
Allen

Looks like a 9-10th place team to me unless everything goes "right"...:help:

Add Wayne Simmonds
At least Bergevin sets the bar low for us

This is pretty much spot on, with the following minor changes:

- there will be a 4th line acquisition that will push Weal out of the lineup
- it's possible we sign a 13th forward that brings a different dimension than Weal
- Hudon will stay in Laval, unless we're decimated by injuries
- I doubt we'll start Romanov on his off-side. Wouldn't surprise me if we bring an experienced 3rd pairing RD to play with Romanov
- I doubt we will see both Mete and Kulak on the opening day roster

I hope, hope this is true. Pedal to the metal. Tatar can probably be moved for futures if needed. Kulak can probably be moved without taking money back. That's 6.6m in cap space right there. Many things would have to go right obviously, but try.

Am I missing something here but no team is allowed to talk to Hall or his agent as he belongs to Arizona until the 9th unless they trade his rights. So any talk of term, offers etc. are complete bs.

That being said, he’d complete the team and make us a legit contender imo.

Hall Suzuki Armia
Tatar Danault Gally
Drouin KK Anderson
Byron Evans Lehkonen

spread the love across 3 lines.

Indeed...

And you can already predict the post-season excuse-filled press conference where 1 or both of our young stud C's are blamed for not meeting "expectations".

Rangers get Lafrenniere, Sens get Stutzle, Habs get Anderson.

So many teams getting better and Montreal continues to be a mid 1st loser. Rags have Panarin and Zibanijad along with Kappo and now Laff. Leafs are strong, Sens are getting stronger ugghh so depressing to be a habs fan 20 years and counting

He's a great player but we're not a contender with him. Our left D still sucks so bad.

Unless a legit scorer is added, this roster is not even remotely close to the playoffs. People forget we were 24th before Covid
Adding a depth d man, a back up goalie and .38ppg player doesn’t change shit
Unless KK and Suzuki explode , the habs will be just as bad
