Jack Eichel supposedly wants out of Buffalo.

I'd offer Kotkaniemi, Domi, a 2nd rounder, Mete, Byron, and Alzner.

Wait -- could Jonathan Drouin count as a cap dump?
This isn't true.

Though it is Buffalo...so....

That's partly in jest.

But anyway if the Habs are to land a big fish they likely need to move some cap. I don't hate Drouin but he is not worth 5.5 million/year.
5.5 is about right for a 2nd liner like Drouin. Maybe like 500k-1 million overpaid which is bound to happen for playing in Montreal.

Canadien: les négociations en cours avec le clan Gallagher

MB said in this interview that his next target is to finalize an extension for Gallagher. He said he spoke with the player and the agent. And obviously said that the contract needs to make sense for both sides.

When asked about Danault, he said that he hasn't spoken to his clan yet. His priority now is Gallagher and that he will tackle these one at a time.

When asked about Danault's comments, he said players will have to earn their spot.

Really not a big fan of extending him right now. Seems like a extremely poor decision.

I'm really starting to warm to the idea of Mike Hoffman in Montreal.

There's a link there with Luke Richardson.

No chance that Hoffman sign here.
Not sure I buy that...Luke Richardson coached him on the AHL and was a big reason why he stuck around and broke out in Ottawa.

Given his profile, if he can vouch for him..I could see that being a fit.

Call Erik Karlsson, one of the classiest players in the NHL, and ask him to vouch for Hoffman.

There’s no way Bergevin would even consider Hoffman with that Karlsson baggage still following him around.

All those allegations went nowhere. A fiction from the insane Mrs. Karlsson.

EK’s class, or your perception of it, is irrelevant.

I still don’t want Hoffman though. He’s another almost type of player.

Yeah it went nowhere, except for the fact the Sens shipped off Hoffman instantly. Definitely unfounded.

And the fact you’re accusing Erik’s wife being in the wrong here is just asinine.

He said yesterday that he won't sign a big UFA

I think they didn't have much choice considering their superstar player was involved.

They shipped out Hoffman because he was the least valuable player. That’s a no brainer.

Why is my statement asinine and yours informed? What gives you the higher ground, please be specific.

Have you asked Karlsson’s first wife to vouch for his class? Do you just overlook that in your assessment or are you ignorant?

Notice that Mrs. Karlsson shut up and dropped everything when Hoffman’s GF hired a Bay Street lawyer and initiated proceedings to clear her name? Strange and expensive move for a culpable party.

Yes I guess Andrew Hammond and JG Pageau’s wives were also lying when they also called her out and saying they weren’t surprised.

And why wouldn’t you counter-sue for defamation for something this serious if you didn’t do it? So your logic doesn’t go far either.

Hoffman is also not being retained by Florida despite them having ample cap space and him being their leading goal scorer shows you just how much he’s valued.

I’d rather stay away from this mess. These type of things never happen in the NHL but for some reason happened to Hoffman.

I'm not as naïve to think all players get along.

And Erik Karlsson ain't winning a congeniality award any time soon either.

Wife/GF drama?? I'm sure it happens everywhere in the NHL actually. It's just very hush hush.

Its not following him around...it's just a talking point here.

Did he have any issues in Florida? That's part of the due diligence you have to do as an organization.

What happened with his wife and Ms Karlsson years ago is between them and not a reflection on the player as far as I'm concerned.
