OT: 2020 Football Thread: We All Suck

Agree with everyone that the Jags could be an issue, but we also want them to finish as high as possible as well, without getting the #1 pick. If they are all set to get Lawrence and are not interested in Fields, that could be all the leverage the Jets need to get an absolute haul in a deal.

The Jags have multiple 1s, 2s, 4s, 5s, and 7s. Jacksonville finishing with the 2nd pick would allow them to move down only one spot, get Fields, and potentially get both of their 2s or one of those and their first the following year.

Remember, Trubisky cost the Bears a ton of draft capital to move from 3 to 2. With the enormous amount of holes this franchise currently has, it could make too much sense to have all those 1s and 2s in the next two drafts to build around all the cap space they will have this offseason to inject a lot of talent around Fields.

Might be the best tackle taken. Gives you confidence that Douglas does know what he's doing with the offensive line, despite the FA signings not working out to this point.

You take Lawrence and don’t think twice IMO unless you think the difference between Lawrence and Fields is negligible. I like Darnold but I’ve come to the realization that it’s not happening here. He should try to go to a team like Pitt or Indy and eventually succeed their starters.

Hopefully Becton stays healthy and Mims is a legit starting WR. This team has so many holes it’s crazy. Amazing that our offensive guru HC hasn’t figured out how to run the football in 2 years.

There’s not much cause for optimism as a Jet fan. One of the few times they nail a draft pick and I’m going to enjoy it. Historically they seem to take interior linemen with little pass rushing ability.
