Either we get one of these super prospects or we get someone decent if we make a playoff run. Either works because at the end of the day, its who you scout and i am sure if this draft is that deep, we'll get a special player. Ultimate scenario: finish 12th or something and win the lottery again. Not realistic but hopeful:)

There will be some big names in the back end of the first in this draft, the key is obviously identifying it and getting lucky but I would bet on someone getting an Aho, Kuzy in the late first or second. We obviously dont know where we will end up picking, and we clearly like people higher then others but i can think of 30 plus players I would be happy with in this draft relative to where we end up. This draft is gonna be a good one and we still need to make it through the d-1 season

Here's the list of NCAA free agents who lost their draft rights yesterday and are now UFA's. Wouldn't be surprised to see NYR picking up one....

The list is missing Hayden Hawkey and Connor Hurley, who are also UFA's now.

Gates, Olofsson, Hawkey. The only three I'd be interested in. Not sure if Olofsson will sign, since he has already signed in Sweden.

2020 NHL Mock Draft - NHL - DraftSite.com

Draftsite updated their site to a nice sleeker design. Still trying to get used to it. Nonetheless, here's their updated mock....

1 (12) C/LW: Antonio Stranges (USA)(5'10"/170lbs., Shot: Left, London/OHL)
2 (43) C/RW: Seth Jarvis (CAN)(5'9"/165lbs., Shot: Right, Portland/WHL)
3 (84) LW: Roby Jarventie (FIN)(6'2"/185lbs., Shot: Left, Ilves/Liiga)

Some big contributors there. Wouldn't mind this haul as an early 3 round mock. Thoughts?

Rangers will be picking in the top 5 Debbies and Oilers should be playoff bound.
Buffalo did not get worse.

Not a fan of Stranges there with who's on board

I root to draft kids based on their names. I don't like any of those names. Jarvis isn't weird but reminds me of Wes Jarvis.

A Finn name Roby is very noteworthy lol, for many it would be very hard to pronounce, and be something like Roppy.

His dad is from Saskatchewan and played NCAA and Junior A for Swift current. His dad then moved to the UK. One season he had 138 points in 44 games for Nottingham. He evidently went on to do some coaching for Pelicans, which is where Brad started in Finland. He plays internationally for Finland. IDK if he has dual citizenship or what, not sure how that works.

If I remember correctly, his mom is Finnish. IIHF has different rules than actual countries when it comes to citizenship. I think Lambert can decide which country to represent but once he plays 1 game he can't switch

Eliteprospects has him with duel citizenship with Finland as primary and Canadian as secondary. We saw a similar situation with Sean Day.

With Day it wasn't really relevant though since Belgium is dog shit when it comes to hockey and Day would always pick Canada, same with Daniel Sprong and the Netherlands. Never represented.

Give me Gunler over Holtz any day.
