Not for me. I think that Gorton would really need to be floored. A true Godfather "Offer you can't refuse" type of offer. That's not it.That is enough to make me consider moving the pick.

Super secret offer. What THEY don't want you to know about the King's offer for #1.
Doesn't that get you put on double secret probation?Super secret offer.
Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son.Doesn't that get you put on double secret probation?
**Take this how it is (BECAUSE I KNOW SOME OF YOU WILL OVERTHINK THIS AND WANT TO MAKE THE TRADE)....**
But there is a strong rumor that LA has made an offer (or preparing an offer) for No. 1 and in it includes Alex Turcotte, Gabe Vilardi, pick No. 2, AND one (or more) of Rasmus Kupari, Tobias Bjornfot, Arthur Kaliyev and Samuel Fagemo.
Tempting, but I would still keep Lafreniere.
Yeah true. Vilardi’s skating scared me off. At least we got Chytil in that draft who is not a finished product but has shown some good flashes and is only 20. But now I understand why Arizona was so willing to trade that pick. Obviously somebody could always slide but they knew it wasnt a deep draftGlass was my preference too. (Vilardi after Glass was off the board).
The Rangers were hoping Pettersson was going to be there. He was the object of their affection and the hope was they could nab him at 7.
Vancouver was the wildcard because the Rangers were hoping they’d take Mittelstadt. Vegas was always likely to take Glass.
So really, it was Mr. No Chin-Ups that screwed everything up for the Rangers.

I think they'd need to add to 3 + 5 though. Again, the offer can't just be good value, it has to be total and complete overpayment that makes the other team look silly.I see an offer built around a lot of second and third choices, some of which the Rangers already passed on in recent years.
I think any offer to grab their attention has to include someone they didn't have a chance to get, or guys they've would taken.
The reason Ottawa comes up is because the Rangers would probably come away with some return combo of Byfield/Stutzle/Sanderson/Holtz.
I think they need something truly exotic.

And that's why these types of deals are seldom made. Because the risk and cost, for all involved, is very high. Most teams would rather just go with the devil they know and take their chances.
If you miss with a pick like Lefreniere, you can say everyone would've missed.
If you miss by trading the pick and Lefreniere is indeed in that upper tier, you just traded away the type of player franchises wait decades to land.
Fair enough. I'm not saying I make the move. I'm saying its at least respectable enough IMO to where you don't immediately tell them to lose your number. Not for me. I think that Gorton would really need to be floored. A true Godfather "Offer you can't refuse" type of offer. That's not it.

What do folks think about taking Gunler with their 2nd 1st rounder?
What’s the knock on this kid aside from sticking to the perimeter? He can score a ton. A prospect like him and Pajuniemi could be PP threats down the road. Not necessarily a bad move at all.
Big swing.

I'd have a really hard time moving off the #1 pick without some sort of known quantity coming back and I'd have no interest in going lower than #3. Kinda limits the options quite a bit.
Effort; whether his skills translate at the higher level --- specifically whether he can adapt his style to effectively use his tools against men and not boys.
Some questions about his ability to be coached and to listen to instruction.
There are some concerns that for all his natural ability, he's not inherently a guy whose hockey sense is quite on the same level. But, there's also a question about how much of that is just an experience and comfort thing.
He could go anywhere from the teens to the early second round. Teams are really divided on him.
Big right winger with some skill ok with me. Shooter (we have plenty of playmakers). What do folks think about taking Gunler with their 2nd 1st rounder?
This has been refuted by several coaches already. Gunler has no problem at all in Luleå with coaching. And from observing him in person, I can say that he is very well liked by his team and coaches.
The concerns about Gunler, actually apply to Lucas Raymond IMO based on observing them during games. Their behaviour on the bench, how they respond to shifts etc.
Gunler is a long-shot, but everyone in that range is. If you go boom-or-bust, Gunler fits that mold.
Many Sens fans aren't even willing to trade 1st overall for Chabot straight up.3rd+5th+Tkachuk+Chabot+Batherson is a package I would at least consider but it will never be offered. The thing is, no team is going to offer a package enticing enough for the Rangers to accept
That's possible but it's still out there, and it's out there enough that a few teams have mentioned it and you've got scouts and other sources going as far as to share their concerns with McKenzie and THN - recently.
Now, in his defense, there are others out there saying the disputes were overblown. But I would not go as far as to say the claims/concerns were refuted.
For better or worse, they're part of the equation right now.
Yeah, I know the conerns are there, but if I am putting my thinking hat on for a sec, I would think the Carolina Hurricanes and New York Rangers could be teams to see past that, as they have strong connections with that coaching staff, through Sellgren and Lundkvist. So, maybe he goes at 13 (TOR's pick owned by CAR) or 20-24 (CAR's pick owned by NYR).
At the same time, he could very well fall all the way to the 2nd round like Höglander last year
