When they say “uniformed military personal can board at their leisure” the DOESN’T include Kiss Army.

I've done my stint in the Salvation Navy, which is the spec war outfit, so I proudly board at that time.

(No disrespect to our men and women who have served or serve now. Love you all for what you do for our country)

Is the price for Eichel lower than I think or will they have to give up at least two of those to get him?
Someone is giving up a piece at least as good as Newhook, possibly two AND will probably project to have higher draft picks for the foreseeable AND will have an easier time making cap space for his hit.

And yes I realize me liking Vegas for him does fly in the face of all that.

Lose Graves to expansion. Get rid of Donskoi and Compher using picks as necessary to get nothing back in return. Trade Burakovsky for Faksa. Trade Girard + picks, prospects for Jones. Waive EJ but re-sign him for 2 years at 1 million per year. Sign Danault and Hjalmarsson.

Jamie Oleksiak as a Top pairing Dman?

Are we trying to get 1st overall pick next year? Is that what Im supposed to take from this?

I wouldn't put him on the top pair but he has played some tough minutes next to Heiskanen for two years now and done well. Heiskanen's skating and puck moving ability is obviously a big part of why that pair succeeds but I think he could come in and do the same next to Girard on the second pair. I'm all for Oleksiak if they can't get Jones or make some other bigger splash via trade.

Is Jan Rutta a top pairing Dman? What a ridiculous coment to make.

But you can call that the second pair. Toews-Savard the first pair.

Probably just a negotiating ploy but this still assumes me.

Weekes is being played like a fiddle.

The Stanley Cup Finals haven't even started yet and Kaprizov's agent has him pulling the KHL card and telling everyone talks have gone cold on an extension.

Friedman is implying in the last podcast that Eichel is likely going to Anaheim possibly for the 3rd OA pick and one of Zegras or Drysdale.

Sabres could end up with Power, Zegras (or Drysdale) and Beniers. Damn.

He also said another team is interested in Risto + another player....and that he'd be surprised if any of Eichel, Reinhart and Risto is there to start next season.

Sounds like the Sabres are ready to pull the plug on that rotten core.

God, if Murray trades away Zegras AND third overall he’s an even bigger f***ing moron than I gave him credit for.

Thoughts on:

To Col
Hertl ($1m retained) subsequently signed to a $7.5x5

To SJ
2021 first
Barron
Jost

Send Graves to Det for a third and fourth (they have tons)

Donskoi picked by Seattle

Landy $7.5x6
Makar $9.5x6
Grubauer $5.5x5
PEB $0.750x1

Landy-MacK-Mikko
Bura-Hertl-Newhook
Nuke-Kadri-Compher
LOC-PEB-Kaut/Wingerli/Ranta
Toews-Makar
Girard-Johnson*
Byram-Timmins
McDonald

Grubauer
Francouz

Dump Compher over Donskoi. Dislike Grubauer’s term. At 5.5M+, term should be 3-4 years but Avs really don’t have a choice.

Dont know if Seattle takes Compher of Donskoi without payment. Like you said Grubauer kinda has the power in this negotiation.

Ultimately I think Hertl is the right target this offseason and can’t think of many available centers I’d prefer

I also suggested Hertl but would prefer Danault for more cap flexibility.

I don't think major moves are needed at this point, unless it was for a legitimate #2 shutdown C. But I still have some hope that Kadri can bounce back, but his playoff antics really need to stop. I'd love to bring Saad back, he was one of our best playoff performers, but I wouldn't be surprised if he chased the money at this point. I'd love to find a way to replace Graves, Donskoi, Compher and Bellemare with Oleksiak/Hakanpaa, Armia, and Cizikas. No way that happens, but those cap numbers would roughly be equal and I think those moves would be enough. It's pretty clear we need more toughness and C depth. But not sure how that we would fit Saad and new contracts for Landy, Cale and Gru. Would mean EJ would need to be traded/claimed most likely.

Landy - Mack - Rants
Saad - Kadri - Burakovsky
Newhook - Jost - Armia
Nuke - Cizikas - LOC
Ranta. x

Toews - Makar
Girard - Timmins
Byram - Hakanpaa/Oleksiak
x

Not sure if that team would be under the cap, and would want a few more NHL ready bodies on D, but that addresses most of our needs. Stastny is someone I would look at too if he's willing to take a hometown discount.

Flipping thru IG, and saw a stat. Every teams last conference final appearance.

Longest draught:
Florida - 1996
Columbus - Never (Founded 2000)
t-Colorado - 2002
t-Toronto - 2002

:(

I bet Weekes got duped by one of Kaprizov's fake agents. Often times these guys from Russia have a bunch of people claiming to be their agent when they're not really.
Weekes I 100% agree on. But Russo is one of the best and most connected journalists out there. So clearly there’s something going on.
